Celebrity Traitors - may the oldies rule!

Celebrity Traitors starts tonight at 8 pm.

I'm looking forward to it, there's some reasonably good brains competing.
At least two of the contestants are pensioners - Celia Imrie (Calendar Girls, Marigold Hotel etc) and the erudite Sir Stephen Fry.

I agree about the "Big Dog" thing being flawed but I can see why it has come about. SF and JR would like to be seen as Mr Important but none of the celebs lack merit, even Lucy with her little girlie voice ( which I find very irritating, by the way). However, I have had enough of the dogs and want them both gone so the others can get on with it. Murder SF and banish JR asap, imo.

I feel the same way about Kate, Doodledog, and to a lesser extent about Charlotte, so I’m hoping David is spared. The big dogs thing is getting a bit irritating imho - Stephen and Jonathan must be lapping it up.

Doodledog Fri 17-Oct-25 15:50:47

I think Claire is as much of a big name as JR and SF. The 'big dogs' thing is rather flawed, IMO.

I hope David hasn't been murdered. He hasn't had much air time yet, whether that's because he hasn't said much or because of the edit is anyone's guess. Is it Charlotte, Kate or David to go? If I've remembered that correctly, I hope it's Kate. I'm not sure what it is about her I'm not keen on (a bit like with Tom) but I find her irritating.

I use to sing the whole rhyme too Notspaghetti I think the word pussy has a different meaning now though 🤣🤣🤣

Maggiemaybe Fri 17-Oct-25 14:01:25

Oh, I don’t think they’ll take it that seriously, mostlyharmless. It’s just a game when all’s said and done!

mostlyharmless Fri 17-Oct-25 12:36:13

I’m loving this.
But I think it’s now reached a stage when no one feels they can upset the more senior, established celebrities as they would be risking their own career.
Speaking out against one of the “big dogs” could mean no invitations to chat shows or celebrity parties in the future.
Alan Carr murdering Paloma Faith was very brave, but then everyone will forgive Alan because he’s Alan - the lovable, innocent, heart-warming, comedian.
In the usual Traitors programme this power game wouldn’t be a factor.

Delila Fri 17-Oct-25 12:22:48

Celia is hilariously funny 🤣

NotSpaghetti Fri 17-Oct-25 11:45:52

My parents used to sing it Allira so we sang it to our children too.
I might ask them if they remember it now...

Allira Fri 17-Oct-25 11:20:46

NotSpaghetti, I know the rhyme but never heard the last two lines before. 🐈

Oh!!

Quite!!

Wasn't the mission peculiar.

I didn't say more in case some posters hadn't seen it but oh! yes.

It didn't go as I expected. A pity Clare has gone, I think she was perceptive, the others didn't realise that, of course, and JR used that to his advantage.
I don't think Clare does enigmatic!

Yes, the mission was very odd, I kept hoping the water was clean.

Parsley3 Fri 17-Oct-25 10:48:46

The celebs are not getting off lightly when it comes to the missions but they are all game for it. I wonder who styled JR because he is wearing some very interesting outfits.

I find it sad that nobody knew the rhyme.

Ding dong bell,
Pussy’s in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Tommy Quin.
Who pulled her out?
Little Johnny Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed the mice in his father's barn.

I admit I don't know where it came from though.

Thanks for that.. I didn't know the whole version either.

keepingquiet Fri 17-Oct-25 09:21:06

I really loved the mission- whoever thinks up these is a genius and I find them more entertaining than the ordinary version.

Gutted Ruth has gone and agree the round table is not what it should be- wonder if they'll ever cotton on and we have the same traitors right to the end. They are all too nice and the money gain element is missing from this version.

It is frustrating having to wait a week but it is one thing I love about Traitors, it is like nothing else on TV and we oldies are used to not having the instant gratification of binge watching!

All the perceptive players are being sent off- so wonder how the ones left will really manage to play the game...we'll have to wait and see.

Toetoe Fri 17-Oct-25 09:06:33

I'm really enjoyed it and wish it was on more evenings . The traitors are very good but I do think Johnathon will be outed soon . I think Alan is playing the game well , I'm amazed he's not tripped up . Great entertainment

Maybe children aren't taught to be nice to cats anymore!? 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 😺 🐱 😸

Ding Dong bell pussys in the well …..the younger ones hadn’t a clue 🤣

😹 😹 🙊 🙊 🙊

escaped Fri 17-Oct-25 08:26:20

Strangely, the random title I chose has some truth! The oldies, (joke!), are playing the game well! Most of the younger ones have gone, apart from Cat who is possibly my favourite.

BlueBelle Fri 17-Oct-25 08:22:23

Joe is that the rugby players name? has been the most perceptive of them all I think Cat is playing a great game Jonathon Ross is living up to his (I like me) annoyingness
I had never heard of Ruth or seen her, but I liked her directness and I m sorry she’s out she certainly was on to JR

I did find the mission weird the putting the head under water bit was down right peculiar Ding Dong bell pussys in the well …..the younger ones hadn’t a clue 🤣

Have we really got a week to wait !!!!

Iam64 Fri 17-Oct-25 08:10:18

They’re being beautifully manipulated by JR. they still can’t see Alan killing his friend. Cat is genius at smiling being friendly and staying under the radar.
Why aren’t they listening to the rugby player

They are all being very nice and polite at the round table. Possibly because most of them know each other away from the castle and want to be invited onto each other's shows etc. You don't get that so much on the usual Traitors show as they have never met before.

They've all got healthy appetites - they were shovelling the food down after the Wailing task today grin

I was pleased about the banishment today.

Allira Thu 16-Oct-25 22:39:44

Yes, they seemed reluctant to point fingers and explain why.

YorkLady Thu 16-Oct-25 22:38:14

Another great episode tonight.
I think the round table was underwhelming. They need more confrontation, but perhaps are hesitant to be seen as the bad guy by bringing up names.
Do I really have to wait until Wednesday for the next part? 😫

Allira Thu 16-Oct-25 21:57:58

Oh!!
