I cant say I am bothered at all but Dh is still watching it. Seems more copy cat than original.

I actually quite enjoyed it. It was a bit different having two women as the baddies.

I'm quite enjoying this rather light hearted drama. It's all rather far fetched, but I'm sticking with it just to see what happens. Not my usual thing though.

Entertaining enough drama. What I do like though, is that there are so many more middle aged women in lead roles these days.

I started to watch it but found it boring.

We gave up halfway through. Very surprised that Suranne Jones agreed to be in this rubbish.

I know what you mean. Suranne Jones was the producer.

It’s a slow start but will try to persist.

Got bored halfway through so switched over to another channel. Two very good actresses completely wasted, in my view.

I really enjoyed it so far. It’s just so refreshing to have a series that’s not to do with the police, drugs, gangs or violence which is most of what’s on offer these days. Yes it’s a bit far fetched, but to me it’s entertainment without the horrors which personally I find abhorrent. I know I’m a bit of a wuss but can’t see the enjoyment of blood and gore, torture and murder.

Couldn't agree more Bazza. We are always hoping and failing to find non violent films. My daughter watches Korean drama, and says they are very gentle and enjoyable films.

Absolute trash. Both Suranne Jones and Jodie Whitaker are good actors, so very strange to see them in something so poor.

Surprised so many don’t like it. I’ve found it a nice change - both ladies are actresses I really like. We can’t all like the same things though.

We watched episode 1 because Suranne Jones is the lead role. (what was she thinking??) shan't bother again.
It was so poor, I un -recorded the rest of the series.

The most interesting bit of Frauds was realising Suranne Jones is so well-endowed she must have worn a binder to play Anne Lister in Gentleman Jack. As Anne Lister was so particular about her appearance and outfits, I wondered if she did the same thing and looked it up.

AI tells me this

"Anne Lister ("Gentleman Jack") wore a corset with a carved busk to create a flat, rigid chest, not a binder, which became a common undergarment for trans men much later. The corsets she wore had a "busk," a stiff, flat piece of carved bone or wood, in the center that flattened and shaped her chest to achieve the masculine silhouette she desired. "

So that's what she's slipping down her frontage in the introduction to each episode.

If you haven't watched Gentleman Jack, I really recommend it.

I am 'enjoying' it up to a point..... bit far fetched but hey I need far fetched.

A bit dry/easy watching. Wouldn’t be bothered if I didn’t see last couple of episodes

essjay Wed 08-Oct-25 19:07:27

good easy watching, hope there will be a second series

How did you last until half way through 😱 Absolutely dire.

I really enjoyed Gentleman Jack too, butterandjam, and was miffed when there wasn’t a final series, as the best of the Anne Lister story was yet to come. I did think the second series got a bit bogged down at times though in tedious detail about land sales - perhaps that’s what did for it?

I didn’t fancy Frauds, and it doesn’t sound as if I’ve missed much.
