I've just been watching Don't Wait Up which was being re run on one of the more obscure channels. OK the plots and scripts were pretty clunky, but the performances by Nigel Havers, Tony Britton and Dinah Sheridan, are a joy to watch. Tony Britton can show so many emotions with the raise of an eyebrow!
I mentioned an art programme on Rewind . There's a lot of vintage programmes on it ie The Beverley Hillbillies and Bewitched . If you are dog mad there's That's My Dog .
I still love The Avengers ,the Persuaders and the Professionals . I watch some programmes ,which aren't that old Morse ,Lewis and Endeavour and long for more . The newer detective programmes are so disappointing . I've tried to watch them ,but end up changing channels.
I saw Bewitched today when I was channel hopping but don’t know what channel it was on….

I used to love Columbo and Ironside, they were real whodunnits.

I loved Z cars, can still recall the theme tune. Dixon of Dock Green. And a few years later I enjoyed The Generation Game, Opportunity Knocks, and Upstairs Downstairs.
Z cars. Emergency Ward 10. Really showing my age now.
I recall quite clearly being furious when Emergency Ward 10 was taken off the air, just because the American president had been assassinated! Dr Kildare was another one I loved, an English teacher was the image of RC, he was very popular.
Too many to list. I loved Man About The House with lovely Richard O'Sullivan. Not hilarious but I loved the fashions. If we watch repeats now I say to DH, 'I had dress/coat/shoes like that.' Also The Lovers with Paula Wilcox and Richard Beckinsale (Jeffrey Bubbles Bon Bon).
On Women’s Hour today they asked for listeners to text in saying TV shows they watched and loved from many years ago.
Suddenly Kenny Everett jumped into my mind. He used to do a sketch where he was presenting a pretend DIY Show. It was manic, over the top and he was covered in blood a lot of the time or wearing a sling. My son and I used to roll around with laughter. He often finished the show in drag and was sitting in a large chair throwing one leg over the other saying ‘everything is in the best possible taste’. Absolutely hilarious. I don’t think it would be thought appropriate now.
