Did anyone else watch this new series on Channel 5 last night?
Starring Robert James Collier (Barrow in Downton Abbey).

I have read several of the books upon which it is based, in fact, reading one now.

As usual, it’s been ‘tweaked’ a bit. In the books, he lives with his farmer brother and family, his mother has dementia and ends up in a nursing home/ hospital. (Not so in tv world).

The story was altered somewhat, but probably needed to accommodate just 2 hours of viewing time.

There’s another 3 episodes to come, shall keep watching.

I haven't read the books but I thought the first episode was ok so I'll watch the next one.

I was glad I recorded it so I could fast forward the many ad breaks but this is typical of Channel 5.

Robert James Collier was on the One Show this week and they couldn't shut him up. I thought Alex Jones was losing patience with him at one point.

I’ve watched half of the first episode and have quite enjoyed it so far. I agree about recording and skipping the many ad breaks.

Enjoying it, love the Peak District. And the two main characters have obviously got interesting back stories.

I quite enjoyed it too. I'll continue to record it and fast forward through the advertisements.

Couldn’t stand Collier! He hasn’t lost the snide look he had in Downton. I thought it was good acting then, but no, it was arrogance. He demonstrated that arrogance today.
