I'm not sure Rod ever did drugs. His children seem to adore him.

I watched it and really enjoyed it. What a wonderful women Penny is. I know everyone can't always agree but it seems certain people on this group are just nasty and see the worst in everything.

Sorry to disagree with all you fans of Mr Stewart.
I have always classed him as a sex/drugs and rock and roll type of person, moving from one woman to another seemingly oblivious to the emotional damage this does to his children from different relationships. I am referring to his earlier life, not his present marriage which we know is stable.
A bit like his friend Mick Jagger.

Interesting that he said that he and most of his family live in America! hmm

Camry1952 Mon 08-Dec-25 14:44:11

That leaves me out. So sad. I'm in the U.S. I hope we'll be able to see it in the future. I'm a big fan of Rod's and also all the British rock bands.

I am 100% team Rod 🎶🎶🎶

Rod Stewart lovely person!
Just because people don't support your views to be nasty is 😞 awful

No Primrose I don’t need to wobble my head hes a reform enthusiast that’s enough for me
You are right grannygravy judging by the polls and the flags there are many very nasty racists around

Being concerned about the thousands of undocumented men arriving in small boats on our shores does not make one racist 🤦‍♀️

Afraid this man who followed and admired Enoch Powell and now loves Farage is a nasty piece of work

Oh for goodness sake. You need to give your head a wobble! 😵‍💫

Have you met him?

Do you know about his charity work?

He said in the 1970’s that he agreed with Enoch Powel on immigration, something which the current government is struggling to cut down on also. Are you against Labour for curtailing immigration and trying to stop all irregular immigration?

He actually said that as the Conservatives and now Labour were not/are not doing great, maybe give someone else a chance, someone like Nigel Farage

Judging by the polls he is not alone 🤷‍♀️

I watched half of it this morning when on live and then had to be elsewhere. I really enjoyed what I’ve seen so far.

Thanks for the reminder I’ll watch it all now on the I player.

Kate1949 Sun 07-Dec-25 15:54:06

I watched it. My sisters have been Rod fans since the 70s and have seen him each time he has come to Brum, apart from the last time when the prices were ridiculous. The first time they saw him at a small venue here, the tickets were £1.

Thank you Sparklefizz, that will help with the present wrapping today .

Ooh, will definitely be watching that. Love Rod’s music. Admire Penny, seems to be calm, friendly and natural.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 07-Dec-25 12:16:19

I watched it, as a big fan of Rod’s and Penny I thoroughly enjoyed it.

(Before he moved into the house shown in the programme he lived next door to our friends, he is a real gentleman)

henetha Sun 07-Dec-25 11:37:22

I've recorded it to watch later, being a big fan of Rod's.

kittylester Sun 07-Dec-25 11:34:16

Oooh, thank you. That's this afternoon sorted while DH watched sports.

I've just watched a terrific programme on BBC1 - Anita Rani interviewing Sir Rod and Penny Lancaster, showing their wonderful garden.

It's great to see such a happy couple - they were occasionally in tears and so was I.

A brilliant programme for Rod Stewart fans, and probably available on iPlayer.
