As the original thread has reached the 1000 post limits I thought I’d get another one going.

Did anyone see Lewis and Katya on It takes two tonight? Poor Katya seemed distraught.

I don't dispute Amber's dance was better than Lewis's, but neither should have been in the dance -off.
I agree about Craig; it is a competition and he judges fairly, if strictly. It is the dancing that matters, not that someone is deemed to show 'false modesty'. Would it be better if she boasted?

Dancers, by virtue of their strict training, seek perfection, and are rarely satisfied with their performance.

I wasn’t talking about Amber’s Charleston petra.

Her Couples Choice was the best dance of the night, and deserved the marks she got.

I find her rather ‘gushing’, and fake ‘humble’, but her dancing is better than any of the remaining contestants, simple as that.

She danced better than Lewis last week, which is why she went through.

Other weeks, he was probably better than her.

🤷‍♀️

I don’t like all the knocking of Amber, I thought Nikita spoke well last night. She isn’t to blame personally if the rules of Strictly allow people who dance as part of their job to participate.

Calendargirl

Amber out dances everyone. Because of that, she should win.

But she won’t.

Think if it were up to Craig, she would, as he genuinely judges on that, never mind if they are amateur, professional, on a journey….

That’s because most of the Charleston moves were what she danced to from June till September in the stage show The Great Gatsby.

It's because the 'public' vote is more 'powerful'. The 'judge' vote only goes so far.
It was explained ages ago, when Arlene Philips complained about a duff dancer staying in, that is is an entertainment show and not just about dancing standards.

Nannee49 Sun 14-Dec-25 11:06:16

Thanks all for keeping me up to date since I (spat out my dummy) decided to vote with my feet and not watch after Lewis' elimination.

It all feels a bit of a swizz as the judges surely know he is the best, don't know what the agenda is really.

Maremia Sun 14-Dec-25 09:27:40

To be honest, I just watch the dancing, and move around, tidying up, or fast forward the 'emotional journeys' and so they don't bother me.

Nannylovesshopping Sun 14-Dec-25 09:24:50

I love strictly, but this year am drowning in all the emotional tears, it’s just too much, get a grip people!!

Calendargirl Sun 14-Dec-25 07:47:50

It all felt a bit ‘flat’ last night, and the judges seemed to be trying to boost interest in it all.

Sparklefizz Sun 14-Dec-25 07:43:03

Yes, Nikita spoke well and it was shocking to hear about the vitriol directed at Amber.

eazybee Sun 14-Dec-25 07:30:26

I didn't watch Strictly, I really couldn't, but I read of Nikita's speech this morning about Amber, referring to the hate directed at her. Shameful.
Surely Balvinder has to go now.

Maremia Sun 14-Dec-25 07:20:31

Headlne, online just now, 'Lewis Cope career boost after Strictly ', but I can't get into the story.
Good news for him. A happier ending to his Strictly adventure 🕺

Allsorts Sat 13-Dec-25 21:28:02

I gave up on it. The judges seem manic now and the dancers professional.

Bukkie Sat 13-Dec-25 21:21:50

I too hope Karen wins now my favourites Lewis and Katya have gone. Amber is a brilliant dancer but her fake humility is cringeable.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 13-Dec-25 20:22:00

I found it rather underwhelming for a semi final too rafichagran . All the poorer for no Lewis and it showed. Certainly not the same standard at this stage of the competition as in past years.

My votes went to George 4, Balvinder 1.

rafichagran Sat 13-Dec-25 20:09:51

I was not going to watch this week due to the elimination of Lewis snd Katya, however I did snd found the show a bit underwhelming, apart from Karen and Carlos.
I thought what Nikita said about Amber was lovely and it needed to be said. Amber is not my favourite, it was always Lewis for me, but hate, that is dreadful, and no one should have to put up with that. Very well spoken Nikita.

nanaK54 Sat 13-Dec-25 20:09:27

My votes:
2 for George
3 for Karen

Good show really enjoyed it

Maremia Sat 13-Dec-25 20:06:29

Just about to vote. George and Karen.

Sparklefizz Sat 13-Dec-25 20:05:22

I've voted - 3 for George and 2 for Karen.
See you tomorrow for the results.

YorkLady Sat 13-Dec-25 20:01:21

Sparklefizz

George's Charleston was quirky with great lifts.
(Anyone else think that George wearing those glasses looks like a young Rolf Harris ?)

😂😂😂

Casdon Sat 13-Dec-25 20:00:16

I really enjoyed that George and Alexis.

TillyTrotter Sat 13-Dec-25 19:57:24

Surprise of tonight is George.
He’ll get most of my votes.

Calendargirl Sat 13-Dec-25 19:53:57

Karen’s didn’t warrant 10’s,
