Twisted Sisters: Madness and Manslaughter

I sat like a rabbit caught in the headlights at this programme. It concerned twin sisters who ran into the oncoming traffic on the M6 motorway. The footage from Police and vehicles was chilling to say the least and as for the poor drivers whose vehicles were unable to avoid them, they must live with that memory for ever. I won't say too much because as shocking as it is, it is worth watching. I felt the medical authorities and the Police left a lot to be desired and the ending has left me with concerns to say the least.
Did any other GN's watch it?

Channel 5. The event was in 2008 but had passed me by possibly because I had a long bout of illness that year. They were 40 year old adults but I have never seen anything quite like it. If you watch be prepared for very graphic images.

I watched it in amazement, too, Sarnia.
I've no memory of hearing of these events at the time, either.
I wonder if both of these women are quite well now.

I remember it being on the news at the time. I watched the programme and the footage was horrendous. I couldn't believe she got up and then ran across to the other side of the motorway.

Definitely worth watching. The police had a camera man with them so he was able to film it all.
They were like super woman that they weren't to badly injured. Thousands of drivers were held up, both ways.
It is in two episodes channel 5

I watched both episodes, but seem to have missed what happened to the sister who was in hospital? (Guilty of scrolling and watching TV at the same time!)

At the end it said she was back living in a close knit Christian community in Washington.

They certainly had super human strength. Imagine surviving being hit by a car going at 65mph or even worse, the other sister being run over by an articulated lorry? Then jumping from a 40ft bridge over a road and surviving with just broken ankles?

very strange story.

What puzzled me was why the Dr at the scene didn’t recommend a section 4 ( emergency admission assessment) order.
She could have been held in a secure unit for up to 72 hours.
In that time she could have been assessed properly. Not in a police station.

Good point.
There was quite a lot of criticism towards the doctors and Police for the way this case was handled. One of those eerie programmes that stays with you for a while.
