No TV but I watch things on iPlayer and have the Channel 4 app, though the advertisements drive me crazy.
There’s not much I want to watch and I didn’t think for a minute that I’d enjoy Celebrity Traitors but I’m now hooked on it, long after everyone else.
What else should I try from the past?

Oh, yes. I love Race Across the World and have seen them all.

Just on last episode of series 2 of the thriller The Couple Next Door - channel 4. Finding it gripping and glad have binged watched. Will have to see if can find series one.
Another vote for Line of Duty, Celebrity Traitors and Race Across the World.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Walter Presents series on Channel Four of The Seaside Hotel. After the final series (10) ended recently I felt lost, so have now started watching Series 1 again!! If you don’t mind sub-titles, I would highly recommend this charming Danish series with its beautiful photography and quirky characters.

That looks good. Thanks ( I use subtitles all the time anyway). On top of that whilst googling that I saw that The Spanish Princess is on Ch4 catchup. I loved The White Queen and have been meaning to buy The Spanish Princess on dvd so it’s a bonus to find I can watch it for free!

There was an interesting short series on a few months ago . Contestants travelling in a coach around europe. Windows obscured. Had to guess where they were. Was really good. Given some visual clues and red herrings. Interesting seeing how different people play the game to win. Person with the worst guess, furthest from the city/town had to leave the game.

The Australian series, Five Bedrooms, was really good. Likewise The Split. I’m currently watching the American series This is Us, and really enjoying it.

Oops again! It seems I haven’t got it wrong after all. I was referring to her post at 14:36. I shall now be quiet!

Oops! Sorry, accidentally posted on wrong thread! Stress of Christmas getting to me, maybe?

Babamaman, you have my sympathy, for what it’s worth. I often find things come in threes, and you seem to have had three mishaps, so maybe your run of bad luck is over, I hope so.
A few weeks ago, my car warning light came on, then a parcel I had sent went astray. I found myself waiting for the third thing (my mother was very superstitious and taught me this). Sure enough, I broke my favourite ornament.
These things are sent to try us!

The Capture (BBC1 with Holly Grainger) is very good if you like a slightly complex ‘spy’ style drama. Two series.
I liked Mum with Lesley Manville - funny series about everyday life for a ‘put-upon’ mum. BBC2 3 series. A bit older now, but still good.
We are rewatching The Night Manager before the new series starts. A bit violent in places but fast moving, straightforward tale of goodies and baddies with a great cast.
The Tourist is a good detective drama, set in Australia - Jamie Dornan plays an English guy who has lost his memory. Unlikely but great heroine steals the show.

.

The 'ordinary' Traitors is better I think, as you have no preconceived opinions or knowledge of the people involved. More dramatic but great fun.

The Australian Traitors* is also very good but I disliked both the American and Irish versions intensely. Far too screechy and loud with unlikeable people.

* Australian Traitors is available on the iplayer.

If you want a shot of Claudia and like sewing (or even if you don't - my husband gets sucked in!) you could try old episodes of The Great British Sewing Bee.

I'm rewatching "Ab Fab" and it still makes me laugh. I love Race across the world, this last one has been particularly good and I wanted them all to win!

I’ve just finished watching Outrageous on bbc iplayer about the Mitford girls and enjoyed it.

Hi well I’ve had just a ‘smashing’ time!
Broken my food processor
Any recommendations for one not too complicated, as long as it blend, chops and shreds!
Accident no.2 dropped and smashed a jar of Nutella!
Then I dropped my central heating remote! Didn’t smash but isn’t working so have no heating!
Heating man can’t come until Monday or that’s if he picks up his emails and has pity on me!
Has anyone else had a ‘smashing’ time this weekend?
Luckily it is too cold
Thanks for any sympathy as children and grandchildren just think it’s funny😬🥴

I'm the most untalented person ever as far as craft is concerned but, after reading Patrick Grant's excellent book, 'Less: Stop Buying So Much Rubbish', I immediately watched all 12 series of 'The Great British Sewing Bee'. That inspired me to work my way through every episode of 'The Great Pottery Throw Down' and I also discovered the slightly less enjoyable 'Game of Wool: Britain's Best Knitter' which is currently being rolled out on Ch 4.

Just love race across the world both the celeb and ordinary one ‘ only issue is that the editing is very poor -
Felt sorry for Dylan & his mum in the last one as they were totally out of their depth
Enjoy

Like you watermeadow I was convinced I wouldn't like The Traitors but after seeing a clip of Celebrity Traitors on Gogglebox I was intrigued, started watching and got hooked.

I've just watched The Traitors Australia on iPlayer and am now on season 2 of the UK version. I prefer the Australian. What I would say that you have to stick with the first episodes of the non-celebrity versions as you have to get to know the contestants, whereas we're somewhat familiar with many of the Celebrities.

As someone else has suggested "Race Across the World" - celebrity and non-celebrity is a really good watch.

I also like Fat Friends - comedy with a bit of a dark side and lots of familiar faces.

Shetland is very good, especially the early series starring Douglas Henshall. I just watched Outrageous which is about the Mitford family in the 1930s, it was very good and before that I watched The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall as I love period dramas. All on BBC iPlayer.

Thanks. I’d forgotten about The Tenant of Wildfell Hall! I recently rewatched Middlemarch and The Mayor of Casterbridge and loved them. It was so long ago that I watched Middlemarch that I’d forgotten what happened so it was like watching it for the first time.
