We’ve watched the first 3 programmes and the 4th is tonight. This is really worth a watch although not if you want something cheery - it’s quite stressful. We visited the Titanic experience in Belfast in the summer - it’s part of DH’s cultural heritage as he was brought up in Belfast. This is actors speaking eye witness accounts from survivors along with recreations of how the event unfolded. Very well done, but scary!

I’m going to watch on catch up. I am very interested in the whole incident. We visited the graves and the dedicated museum when we were in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
As people research their families, more information on those who lost their lives becomes available.

All four episodes are on BBC iplayer, I have watched them all and they are very moving because the story is told using the words of some survivors. In have always been interested in this terrible event as my mother’s uncle lost his life on The Titanic, it happened the year my mother was born. My mother was from Southampton and many members of her family were employed on ocean liners, this particular uncle worked down in the boiler room so he had very little chance of survival, we went to The Titanic exhibition and his name is on the list of those who lost their loves.

Lives not loves.

I can’t bring myself to watch it. It has been something that has always haunted me since I read the book and saw the first film of it - “A Night to Remember”.
We visited the Titanic exhibition in Belfast this year and it was both amazing and very very moving. All the names of those who died, and those who were saved are recorded so that you see them as you make your way out. I came out in tears. So many more could have been saved. Shocking and sad.

It was well worth watching. I have also been to the Titanic exhibition in Belfast an experience I will not forget.
