Anyone up for a Traitors thread?

www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/mediapacks/the-traitors-series-4-contestants

No, I thought it has come too close to celebrities which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I thought at first that Claudia was speaking to us viewers!! (about the secret Traitor).
Maybe she was looking into a mirror, therefore speaking to herself? hmm

(Apart from one Saturday - tonight)

And don't forget 'The Traitors :
Uncloaked' which follows straight afterwards also on BBC1 with Ed Gamble. Great fun with guest stars from previous series and the voted-off and murdered victims from the last episode.

I'm actually surprised James's name wasn't put forward again.
That would've meant only 1 new Faithful got revealed to the Traitors instead of 2.

I think Secret Traitor is Roxy (aside from her handwriting being very similar to that used on the murder shortlist for night 1) - she voted for James at the round table saying something like she had to go with her gut, so if anyone picked up that she had voted for him and his name then appears on the murder shortlist again, she'd come under suspicion. It would also explain Reece being put on there to put heat on Adam (as Reece had voted for him), and if she was in the room when Ben made his little speech then it would explain him being on there too.

Does anyone think that the Family Tree shown in episode 1 is important?

Could it possibly be that we have 11 'pairs' in the Castle?

Has that happened in previous series?

No, that's what made me wonder if the Family Tree was important, could be a red herring of course.

I am keeping an eye on Hugo and Jade, could they be father and daughter?

Are you comnenting in the correct place?

(Unless you don't know your Traitors from your Gladiators?!!!)

Barbadosbelle, I too prefer the non-celeb version. No preconceived ideas.
The identity of the Secret Traitor is a fun addition. I rewatched episode 1 to see if I could work out where in the room she choose that Traitor. If she did indeed choose the Traitor during that first choosing session then I whittled it down to a possible 6, some of who have been mentioned already. I do have another theory. When she told the public about the Secret Traitor, holding the red cloak, she said, "You are the Secret Traitor". Does she mean all of us? If so how is the list chosen as we are not invited to phone in who should go. The actual names seem a bit random to me and I wonder if they are in fact 'plants' who have agreed to go. It will all get a bit more tense when the group is smaller. Perhaps the existing, known Traitors will defy the Secret Traitor and vote out their own choice, thus regaining their power.

nana8 you and me both 🙄🤔

BlueBelle Sat 03-Jan-26 15:15:58

It happens on fb too you get lots of comments then someone pops up with ‘ I haven’t watched this for five years can’t stand it’ and you think why !!!!
I love the twists and turns of this programme
Specky4eyes* and Crosstitchfan Don’t watch if you don’t get it 6.9 million viewers are enjoying it and we re chatting about it on here

Delila Sat 03-Jan-26 15:11:54

Intriguing idea Doodledog, a traitor who is also the secret traitor, controlling the other two….

Bazza Sat 03-Jan-26 15:09:01

After all the publicity about the first series we made a point of watching the second series, but couldn’t get into it and I fell asleep during the second episode so no, not for us although it’s seems hugely popular. I did read that it’s another nail in the coffin for Strictly as “celebrities “ are desperate to be in it, good money without too much effort!

Delila Sat 03-Jan-26 15:02:10

Based on nothing at all I think the secret traitor is one of the younger men, possibly Adam. Agreeable, and keeps a fairly low profile.
Just a passing hunch 🤔

I prefer the non-celebrity version as the contestants (most of them) don’t know each other and we know nothing about them, so no preconceptions.

Barbadosbelle Sat 03-Jan-26 15:01:36

As a family of three generations we all think that the 'normal' series is superior to the 'Celebrity' version, which was certainly good fun and very watchable but there's something great about having no pre-conceived thoughts about the competitors. You get to know them episode by episode.

And this Secret Traitor is a fabulous addition as we are now all also a Faithful trying to suss out who it is.

You might like to go on iplayer at a later date and watch previous series.

(The Australian version are good too. NZ and Canada's aren't bad but avoid the American version as it's pretty awful - full of reality stars (unknown to us) screeching and screaming and Alan Cumming being embarrassingly over gay in dress and innuendos)

Can I just say, politely, why bother to come onto a thread just to make derogatory remarks - if it's not your cup of tea then just don't watch - simples!

It happens on every TV thread, nanaK54. I don't see the point - either in joining a thread to say you don't watch a programme or in watching something that annoys you so much that you moan about every character/participant and spoil it for those who do enjoy it.

I wondered if the secret traitor might be a traitor, too. I prefer things like this when a few people have been voted out, so I don't have to remember so many names and faces, and we can get to know the survivors better. I'll definitely be watching every episode though.

Elrel Sat 03-Jan-26 14:50:28

The Secret Traitor certainly puts more pressure on the other three! The nightly list should make it easier for them to uncloak him/her,

Mollysuki Sat 03-Jan-26 14:36:35

Hipsy

So any thoughts on who the secret traitor is?
My money is on Ross or possibly Amanda

Mine’s on Jade

Mollysuki Sat 03-Jan-26 14:34:58

Me too! Have my suspicions about who it might be?

WithNobsOnIt Sat 03-Jan-26 14:31:59

As it seems to be mostly scripted and fixed anyway. It doesn't really matter who the performing monkeys are

Nannapat1 Sat 03-Jan-26 14:15:13

I've never watched it and doubt that I will.
