Cheers, I started watching in the autumn of 1986 and soon warmed to the hard hitting stories and the actors playing the staff. I believe for all the city was called Holby, for much of Casualty's existence, it was set in Bristol and the West Country as you could tell by some of the accents.

Yes, it was Bristol until the drastic Fire in 2011 when it was relocated to Cardiff, to purpose-built studios.

We do enjoy seeing if we recognise any locations as some outside filming has been in places we know.

Duffy and Charlie always had a West Country accent, as did many of the patients, and I did catch the odd glimpse of the Severn Bridge.
In more recent times, the location has been more opaque, as you have all manner of accents.

Charlie was played by Derek Thompson who was from Belfast.
I remember seeing him in a drama on TV set in NI and being impressed by his accent, not realising it was in fact his normal accent.

Yes, it's quite ubiquitous now.

I love Casualty, looking forward to the new series.

Yes it’s back next Saturday, the 10th of January !
I have missed it too. I know it’s a bit soap opera-ish but enjoyable nevertheless, although I do get infuriated with the incessant woke agenda which dominates too many episodes.

I was surprised there wasn’t a Christmas special though.

My two daughters with Down Syndrome absolutely love it and were very grumpy that Strictly took over! I quite like it even as an ?old nurse/midwife but I can see errors as in Call The Midwife .

The series employs medical advisers, notably Peter Salt, a clinical nurse specialist and other consultants and specialists to try to keep the medical details as accurate as possible.

Obviously drama has to be included too, as watching a room full of patients waiting hours to be seen would not make for a very exciting programme, although I have seen one or two dramas in A&E waiting rooms!

I’ve missed it a lot Saturday nights with no casualty to look forward to is awful. I’ve watched it forever.

I love Casualty I have watched it ever since the first episode . Looking forward to the new series hope it keeps going

I don't watch Casualty much now, but in its heyday, it really was good viewing and characters like Duffy, Megan Roach and Charlie Fairhead were fantastic. In one episode, I liked how Duffy has to treat a taxi driver for an injury and exposed him as a rapist.

It is one of the few programmes my husband and I watch together. We wish it was on more often like it used to be years ago. We love Dylan, he is a fabulous character and lovely Rash.
