Shamen con :BBC2 last night (Sunday 4TH)

Did anyone watch this first part of a two part documentary ?
The true story concerns a woman with multiple identities who befriended people who were either ill or vulnerable.In particular she befriended an osteopath and somehow managed to convince him he was going to be very ill if he didn't 'Cleanse his spirit' She claimed to be in touch with shamen in South America who for a fee would cure him .Quite innocently he told this to his clients who were also soon handing money over. The scale of the con was massive and took masive amounts of money from people. The woman was obviously living a lavish lifestyle on other people's misery.
The second part must be next week and tells of an investigitative reporter that is on her trail. It's interesting , jaw dropping and also quite sad.
We enjoyed watching how it unfolded and hope in the next part she gets her come uppance.

I watched it. So many people were taken in. It was incredible. They were brave to speak out.

As so often with scams and fraud, you do have to wonder how supposedly intelligent people actually believed her elaborate spiel about ‘magic’ healing.

I watched part two tonight,don't think it's a spoiler to say she is at large again and probably scamming right now.
I guess the people she scammed though intelligent,were at a low ebb in their lives for whatever reason,they needed to have something to cling on to and unfortunately she provided it.An interesting programme.

Yes I watched both episodes . It is surprising how people could believe this woman and hand over so much money . Awful for the victims , so innocent and trusting .
