New thread.

Calendargirl Thu 26-Mar-26 13:22:14

I thought Theo’s vows were an embarrassing load of drivel.

sodapop Thu 26-Mar-26 13:15:29

Good thinking Calendargirl about the registrar, I did wonder why they were labouring the point somewhat.

Puppet on a String on the jukebox...

I thought that was very apt too.

Charleygirl5 Thu 26-Mar-26 09:20:31

I wasn't aware that Theo was divorced from his wife? I was hoping that Todd would say no.

I think that George, Christina and now Summer will keep a watchful eye on Todd. I agree withAveline that Theo may come out of it unscathed and Todd be imprisoned.

Calendargirl Thu 26-Mar-26 09:08:23

Surely the ceremony couldn’t have been fake?

They would have had to sign registers with Gary and Maria as witnesses.

But this is Soapland.

Aveline Thu 26-Mar-26 08:23:52

The whole registry office was grim. Dirty, cluttered and with peeling damp wallpaper. I've been to registry office weddings in lovely rooms with staff keeping the services very pleasant and dignified.

Grannynannywanny Thu 26-Mar-26 07:47:42

Poor Todd, his freedom from the vile Theo didn’t last long. Now they’re married George might be less likely to interfere.

I wondered if it’s possible the wedding ceremony was fake and the bumbling celebrant and his assistant were mates of Theo.

I’m finding Gary rather annoying. He was like an excited 6 yr old when told about the secret ceremony . Hopefully he’ll eventually suss what’s going on and wipe that scary grin from Theo’s face.

BlueBelle Thu 26-Mar-26 07:29:21

You might have hit om something there Calandergirl clever of you Iwas not that bright although I did wonder why they mentioned him being a newbe
Perhaps the quickest nulled wedding in history

Beechnut Thu 26-Mar-26 07:24:39

I’ve been wondering along those lines Calendeargirl. The celebrant/registrar not knowing what he was doing and the other one sat there filing her nails. Is it another of Theo’s to mess with Todd’s head .

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 26-Mar-26 07:22:23

I love that the jukebox in the Rovers Return can be relied upon to play something appropriate every time!

Calendargirl Thu 26-Mar-26 06:43:06

They made a thing about the registrar being new to the role, having worked in ‘housing’ previously.

Do you think there’s a chance that somewhere in the service, he messed up, leaving the ‘marriage’ not legal, a get out for Todd later on?

Do hope so, otherwise could it be annulled?

Aveline Thu 26-Mar-26 06:35:42

My worry is that it's poor Todd who will land there.

Doodledog Wed 25-Mar-26 23:01:47

I know. ‘Todd’ is a very good actor. If anyone watched Stella, he was the ex-boyfriend of Luke’s girlfriend. He was a thug in that role - a very different one.

I hope something comes out about Billy’s death and that Theo is sent to the darkest dungeon in the land.

Puppet on a String on the jukebox...

Calendargirl Wed 25-Mar-26 20:59:55

Oh Todd, Todd!

Talk about having second thoughts!

Calendargirl Wed 25-Mar-26 09:03:11

Well, will Todd go through with this uncancelled wedding?

I hope not.

Charleygirl5 Tue 24-Mar-26 18:06:34

I only hope he doesn't "lose it", injure Theo and end up in prison.

Maybe I should move because none of the medical services at Corrie happen here.

Obviously none of you have ever been in an abusive relationship !!!
The Todd and Theo relationship is being portrayed very well Todd wants to believe Theo really loves him, he is fully invested in the relationship, he is not outside looking in like we are, hes totally caught like a fly in a spiders web
An abusive relationship is completely pull them in push them out it’s total control
The Megan stuff is far less realistic
As for Mel that’s very, very far fetched

I agree that the Todd storyline is believable and well written. He will want things to go back to how they were at the start. We know they won’t, of course, but Todd is living in hope.

vegansrock Tue 24-Mar-26 13:14:44

And a local men and women’s prison…

Aveline Tue 24-Mar-26 10:40:40

Plus instant Police response and legal advice available in a convenient café or pub.

One minute Mal is in hospital, barely conscious, the next he is in the Rovers shouting his mouth off. They must have miracle drugs there.

Don’t forget the one-woman GP who sees everybody the same day, plus house calls.

And the ambulance waiting around the corner for the next disaster.

Plus no corridor waits, straight into a private room, visits by the consultant, unrestricted visitors…..

Sounds like you and I have been where Todd is. Theo was never going to go and stay gone. It's all part of the control in both mind and body. I must admit to fast forwarding some scenes because they are too difficult to watch.
Female child groomers are rare but it happens and I have found this storyline well acted.
I agree with you about Mal. Seems like the scriptwriters were clutching at straws to include another controlling person on the cobbles.

Calendargirl Tue 24-Mar-26 06:26:39

I don’t know which was more 🤮.

Todd and Theo getting back together and snogging at the end, or Dev and Bernie over-sharing about what they got up to on holiday.

As for Mal……absolutely ugh.
