It occurred to me after I had posted that “Endeavour” contains the only line from a tv series that has ever stuck in my head, when his boss says: “You’d find something suspicious in a saint’s sock drawer”!

I bet it was Thursday that said that to Morse 😂

My favourite version of Jane Eyre is the black and white 1943 one starring Joan Fontaine as Jane. It captures the dark , moody and mysterious elements of the story and the atmosphere at Lowood is cold and haunting.

Do you ever wish you could erase a particular show from your mind, so you could have the joy of watching it afresh again?

Yes. Having said that I watched Pans Labyrinth on tv recently, not having seen it since we saw it at the cinema ( I then went on to watch every other film the director had made) and couldn’t actually remember what happened at the end so I almost enjoyed* it as much as I did first time round.
* should probably say appreciate given that it is such a harrowing watch.

DH is watching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy for the umpteenth time. Like others on here, we have recently rewatched Foyle’s War. Still excellent. Rewatched Mash. Loads of Christmas films, like Nativity and Home Alone.

Too many to mention but I’ve just watched Jimmy McGoverns Accused again on Netflix. It was very good/ahead of its time wrt issues

Apart from those tv shows already mentioned above, I also love Rosemary & Thyme. My favourite film, seen countless times, is The Full Monty. Contrary to popular belief, it’s nothing to do with the stripping! I just love the camaraderie between the men and the different personalities and stories they all have. Plus, it’s set in Yorkshire. What’s not to like? smile I also find myself watching films like Pretty Woman or Die Hard again and again if I happen upon them by accident. My favourite old film is Geordie where the wee boy grows up to be a huge hammer thrower (Bill Travers) and competes in the olympics. But the winner has to be White Christmas, which I’ve seen every year since I was knee high (and I’m now 68). As a child, the first thing I did when we got the Christmas edition of the Radio Times was to look and see when it was on tv. No videos or recording anything in those far-off days!

Foyle's War.
The acting and the period detail are second to none.

There’s a really good documentary-drama about the Titanic on bbc iPlayer if you have access called “”Titanic Sinks Tonight”. So moving.
