Who is still watching this?

Series 10, and it should have died a natural death a while back.

Tonight’s story is awful.

And poor Leonard is being turned into an alcoholic, as if he hasn’t been through enough trauma.

Yet another series, used to be great to watch, but so far removed from the original books, and not for the better.

Last night’s episode was no better, but in the fashion parade at the end, I really liked the outfit that Geordie and Kathy’s daughter was wearing.

A black polo neck sweater and a pinafore dress, don’t think that was how Kathy described it, but I could see myself in it, (although many years older than Esme).

The actor who plays Leonard was on TV last week. With his curly hair and glasses he was unrecognisable and quite handsome!

Another ridiculous episode, but just had to say, how pretty Miss Scott looked in her hastily put-together wedding outfit.

Obviously calling the banns and other incidentals didn’t really matter!

I used to love it but it’s taken a bad road. Poor Leonard.

Agree, all turned a bit weird!

I still enjoy it ,a bit of harmless TV, but loved it when James Norton was in it. It’s certainly gone off.

I still love it

I haven't watched it for some time now, not having really enjoyed it since James Norton left. Geordie and his wife are good characters, and Leonard started well but turned into a caricature as time went by.
I do agree with others that ITV is much improved over recent years, ITVX and Netflix are what we watch most of the time now, we never bother with live TV.

My biggest bugbear with the programme is all the awful plastic wisteria

Totally agree - vile. Always ‘in flower’ - so obviously plastic!

'and stands the cloc k at ten to three, and is there honey still for tea?'

Just now the wisteria is in bloom

(Sorry!)

I haven't watched it for years. I used to like it when James Norton was in it and the next guy, I think I stopped watching it when the second vicar was in it, although I did watch some with him in it. I'm not quite sure why I stopped watching it. I suppose because there's so many other things to watch. I've got Netflix and Amazon Prime. There's a lot of free channels too. U is good. I like the Chelsea detective on there and I've watched all episodes.

I still love it personally, although I agree that James Norton was the best vicar. It’s a gentle crime drama which makes a refreshing change from the fast paced thriller types. I am also enjoying After The Flood. In my opinion ITV have really stepped up with the drama over the last couple of years.

Apologies for linking to the Daily Mail, Gogo84, hope it doesn't give you palpitations but I just googled and found this 😁

Oh! You have to pay, sorry.
How annoying.

Here's another one. We are not alone, it seems

It is awful , isn't it!

Although could it be real? 🤔

Perhaps they should start a hairdressing salon, and Cathy’s wig could be the first victim.

I think the series should have finished when the lovely James Norton left.

😂😂😂 these dreadful wigs are all over the place now!

WelshPoppy Sat 24-Jan-26 14:14:02

Never really watched it before but watched the first episode of this series and have watched each week and enjoyed them. Why have I never had a vicar who looks like that?

Schnackie2 Sat 24-Jan-26 14:08:16

I will stay faithful to the series until it finishes next year. I agree that it's not as gripping as it was (especially the James Norton series!) but I find it a comforting, easy watch, especially compared with the violence in so many other shows (soaps included!) Speaking of soaps, I'm so happy that I'm able to watch each days ITV soaps on ITVX during the morning, so my evening is less stressed.

georgia101 Sat 24-Jan-26 14:04:54

I lost interest after half of the first episode this time around and I shan't watch any of the rest of the series.

Allira Thu 22-Jan-26 12:29:14

^Mrs C has a husband and a large house as far as I remember but both are sadly neglected^.

And now she is going into the fashion business with Cathy Keating because she has a business brain. 😂😂
In other words, Jack’s wallet is going to be raided again and will they use the premises abandoned by Leonard and Daniel when they lost interest in the café that Jack financed?

grin

This is more entertaining than the programme!

Allira Thu 22-Jan-26 12:27:54

Not so keen on James Norton but I did like Tom Brittney as Will Davenport.

What puzzles me is how do any of them find the time to do their day jobs?

PinkCosmos Thu 22-Jan-26 12:24:37

I watched it mainly because James Norton was in it. I also like Robson Green.

I watched the series with the second vicar. I can't remember his name. It was OK but not the same without James Norton to swoon over.

I haven't bothered with the series with the third vicar.

mokryna Thu 22-Jan-26 12:04:36

Calendargirl I agree, I watched this program once after James Norton left and it didn’t seem the same, so I haven’t watched it since.
