I had to take the family pooch out for her morning walk in the middle of this programme - on Radio 4 today. Does anyone one know if they mentioned "Tim" with Piper Laurie as the older woman? This is the film which woke me up to the young Mel Gibson - in 1979 - I think..... Not least because not only, when he was young, he was he very like my husband but also because, while working as a barmaid in the 1980's, I became infatuated 5 years later, myself, with a 20 year old chap when I was in my 30's........ Readers...we did share a kiss one night after a very lively night of music dance and alcohol in the club.....which is when I discovered how very like my husband he was too...... By chance, we moved hundreds of miles away not long after. I also saw "The Graduate" with Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft..but it didn't have the same effect.... Do you have a favourite in this genre?

No- but Ladies in Lavendar was the reverse and such a touching film.

I listened but don't recall Tim being mentioned. It's available for download here

Thanks, keepingquiet. I've somehow missed Ladies in Lavender but will bear in mind to look for it as I am a life long fan of Judy Dench.
Why "Fiction, I hasten to add", JamesandJon33? Sharing a little frisson here and there is good for the soul....
Thank you for the link, OldFrill. I find, these days, I have only I hour a day to myself to do the things that are for me alone and not for the household in general. Rapidly advancing years are overtaking me.....and my hour is often highjacked. I am hoping someone had heard the programme and could tell
me if the film was mentioned and discussed, thus saving the precious hour for other things....

Judy Dench was brilliant in this film- I've never forgotten it.
