I think programme is very good. Anyone else enjoying it?

I like David Morrissey, but really wouldn’t have wanted him as my husband as portrayed in this.

He was much more fanciable in some of his other roles.

Did you see him as The Governor in Walking Dead? He does chilling really well.

I quite enjoyed it but did think it really dragged in places and would have been just as effective with at least one less episode.

Aveline..I think it was filmed at Downside

I really enjoyed it. I was surprised that Annie was so submissive to Craig. Amazed that she was apparently going to just get into the car with him.
Terrific setting. I wonder which school it was filmed in.

But they usually do in a tv drama! Wonder if they're planning another series.

I enjoyed it, but like others on here, wish they had solved the cold case. Can't believe Annie would have put up with the dreadful Craig!

Not all cold cases end in a result ☹

Haven’t watched it as yet! Will binge it and come back here when finished.

That Craig was a nasty character

I must be missing something, but didn’t see why we needed the back story of the missing girl from a previous unsolved case.

I felt the interactions with that family lent nothing to the plot.

I thought that too, I thought there was going to be a breakthrough at the end with the new forensics, but nothing.

The character of Annie Cassidy is based on a real-life detective in Avon and Somerset who, with dogged determination, solved a cold case from the 1980s. The perpetrator was jailed.

The main story of Gone is fictional but, sadly, there are still ongoing cold cases which remain unsolved years later but this shows that they are not forgotten and the side story shows this aspect of cold cases.

Binge-watched it recently. David Morrisey was very good. Disappointing ending.

I did too, I stayed awake until 1 am to finish it.

Haven’t finished it.
I blame the dog walker 😁

TerriBull Tue 24-Mar-26 09:43:36

I finished it last night, I thought it was a superior crime drama that was very well acted. Some reviews commented it was a bit slow, I don't mind slow if it appears to be going somewhere. Both David Morrisey and Eve Myles were so good in their respective roles. I first saw Eve Myles in Keeping Faith and it's good to see her in other roles.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 24-Mar-26 08:40:32

Perhaps the missing girl story opens the door to another programme?

I thought that in a way, but I guess it was to show more of the character of Eve Myles - a good detective, but not sticking to protocol - so ‘demoted’ to FLO, which frustrated her.

BlueBelle Tue 24-Mar-26 06:47:35

I loved it I thought both the head master and Eve Myles were fantastic and totally had me The scene where he got so upset was brilliantly done
I thought it was the best drama we d had in a very long time from the acting point of view

I have enjoyed it. I think I have worked out who the murderer is, but I assume I will have to wait until next week for confirmation.

I thought that. DH thought he'd guessed.. We were both wrong :-)

Yes, we're watching it.
I wonder how it will end 🤔

Don't tell us, REKA!

My lips are sealed 😌

knspol Wed 18-Mar-26 20:29:42

Bit slow in places but a lot better than most of the current programmes, enjoying it so far.

Kandinsky Wed 18-Mar-26 19:00:24

I watched it but wasn’t overly impressed.
The ending was very disappointing too.
