My house looks like the ones in the programme. It creeps up on you after several life events and with me has culminated with me being less mobile and finding it difficult to even remotely get on top of things. Over the past few weeks I’ve had a nasty virus and now have a blocked sewage pipe outside the back door. I basically just want to curl up in a ball, sleep and forget about it all.

Is there anyone who could help you?

I don't think it's staged. There are 20 people listed at the end of the show as Location Runners. You see them laying all the stuff out in the warehouse. I'm sure they do plenty of other things!

I reckon we could all do with a Stacey asking us 'Do you really need this?'

Not me. I’m the queen of the chuckerouter, often to my own detriment. Particularly my sewing and gardening bits and pieces.

My Mum was like you.

Perhaps that is why I am a reluctant declutterer. However, you wouldn't realise that there is a load of junk in this house because it is all in cupboards, drawers or stored apart from the things I like around me.

I always think something might come in useful, someone might want it, someone gave it to me so it has sentimental value even if I don't like it, or I might lose weight and fit into it again etc etc etc.

Perhaps I should try this programme, it might inspire me.

You sound depressed MayBee 💐 and overwhelmed. It all must seem too much.

They say the only way to eat an elephant is by taking small bites.

I hope perhaps some spring sunshine will lift your spirits and perhaps motivate you a little to tackle some areas in your home. Perhaps if you can start to see some sustained progress you will feel easier and more enthusiastic about dealing with the muddle you are surrounded by. Good luck xx

I dont think any of the programmes are staged either.
Well apart from, I am pretty sure there are more than 4 people involved with it all!

As regards renting a room - it was pointed out in the programme that a potential lodger would not want to live in it's previous clutter.

When life gets too much, surely you don’t want a television crew in, along with Stace & Co?

When you are a rock bottom I imagine that you will take any lifeline offered…

Yes. Agreed.
I havent watched the programme through to the end yet. But I think she wants to rent out a room to help with her big mortgage?
And wants to stay living where she currently is.

Despite being very irritating, Stacy was brilliant with the woman and her daughters in yesterday's programme.

And the week before she was brilliant with the man with dementia and his family.

I aim to avoid it but always get drawn in.

I agree GG, it was really sad.

I watched last nights, it was really sad.

The lady whose house it was had lost her husband, she and her daughter were grieving and life had just got too much.

There were a lot of toys as they had been foster carers. Holding on to their loved one’s possessions, holding on to his memory.

I try not to judge others, as who knows what life will throw at any of us, or how we would react.

I only ever watch snippets if I’m channel hopping and I agree, there’s something very annoying about it. If my home looked like any on the show I’d feel ashamed for it to be broadcast across the nation and yes before anyone jumps on me, I do know, hoarding can be a mental health issue but a lot of the time the participants just seem to be bad a time management IMO!

Is this program staged? Last night’s episode was beyond belief! It looked a lovely house where someone had tipped the contents of several market stalls over every surface. I turned off. It’s a shame, I could watch the carpenter chap for hours, but all that screaming and hugging does get on my wick after a while.
