The Times gave it 5*....looks like the critic liked it. I was going to give it a go... Not sure now?

I found it unbelievable. and agree with you , Allira. that she had been a nun a long time and wouldn't just walk out out. Surely she would fight her demons.I was also a little confused when she said hers was an enclosed order and yet there was easy entrance.Might give it one more chance.

The series is loosely based on the story of this couple; she was a Carmelite nun and he was a Carmelite friar.

The couple looked incredibly happy on their wedding day. I'm sure they must both have had struggles adjusting but hope they are still as happy today.

Why can a nun not be beautiful? 🤔

I just thought that perhaps Keeley Hawes was too old and had been a nun for far too long to fall in love with a younger, handsome Catholic priest.

It is Niamh Cusack, not her older sister, playing the part of the Abbess. I'm sure I could move around more easily when I was her age 😀

I watched about half of the first episode. I had hoped it would be good but a few things made me turn off:
Keely Hawes much too beautiful to be believable as a nun. Sinead Cussack had a youngish way of moving for someone of her age. There was a worldliness about them that didn’t fit well with their characters in my humble opinion. Lastly I couldn’t make out always what they were saying.
