I've just watched this wonderful film on BBC4 about The Corinthians women's football team from Manchester started in 1949 when the FA banned women's teams from playing. They had to train in a local park and became so good they toured the world and won international trophies, whilst still unable to play in FA grounds in the UK. Surviving team members from their 70s to 90s are interviewed and they are just amazing. A wonderful piece of social history even if you're not particularly into football. Link below but it's on iPlayer.
