Well I'd definitely recommend East of Eden. a 7 part series on Netflix, adapted from John Steinbeck's novel, some major changes from the book, nevertheless I've enjoyed it only one more episode to go unfortunately. Florence Pugh is superb as a ruthless sociopath she dominates every scene she is in.

I finished it last night. I agree it’s worth a look, even if it has strayed away from the original. Florence Pugh’s acting is superb. I won’t spoil the last episode, but you might want a tissue on hand.

It has had rave reviews. There is a very good discussion about the book on The Book Club podcast ( my current favourite podcast). As usual I’ll have to wait for a dvd to ( hopefully) be released.

Don't you just hate it when you have binged watched Season 1 which finished on a cliffhanger, and you find out they are not doing a Season 2

Or when you’ve watched two seasons which end on a mighty great cliffhanger but series 3 is on a different streamer and one that you don’t subscribe to. 😡😡

I loved Britannia. Watched three series of it. The last one ended on a cliffhanger. And then they cancelled the series altogether. We even bought two DVD’s of it because my daughter and I were so engrossed in it we couldn’t wait for the other one to finish watching the dvd so they could watch it themselves.

Netflix is my ‘go to’ more often than not. On my sister’s recommendation I’m immersed in a series (several & the number put me off to be honest!) but just loving it. It’s called ‘Fauda’ (Arabic for chaos) and each episode is 40 minutes. I binge watch a couple most nights!

Noticed this thread started in the summer and it was nice to see MissA posting. I hope you’re doing alright dear lady.

Just watched My Brilliant Career. Set in 1900 Australia, a bit tongue in cheek Jane Austen style. 6 episodes.
Some English actors.

I'm a gritty crime fan too.

You've gotta love a bit of grit. Could have double grit, toast in bed and crime drama.

Anyone watched The Gentlemen, the series Meghan is reputed to have been offered a role in? Decided to indulge as I have bingewatched everything else. Can't say I am riveted to the screen. Would welcome others 'take' on it.

Blackbird is good. Apple TV I think.

Netflix are murder for this 🙄

Trust Me: The False Prophet, a disturbing documentary about a polygamous self-proclaimed prophet in the American Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It’s definitely not light viewing, but interesting.

Few docs on Netflix about this subject.

Yes, this one was on Netflix.
