Characters in movies/tv shows that are never seen?

In Coronation Street, Mary is always mentioning ‘Mother’, but no one has ever seen her.

And in ‘Keeping Up Appearances’, did we ever see Daddy?

And Sheridan the son. He was another one we never saw.

Arthur Daley's "Er indoors", his wife in Minder. And wasn't there a wife in The Archers who never spoke?

Oh and Niles' wife in Frasier

Charlie in Charlie's Angels - his face was never seen.

In Captain Scarlet, the Mysterons were never seen. Their voices were heard and accompanied by green rings.

In Keeping Up Appearances, we occasionally saw Daddy but not Sheridan. Remember Daddy in the toy store?

There was a tradition in British comedy to mention someone, often with some amusing name or traits, but to never see them. No Man Jan, Japanese Margaret and Big Fat Sue are frequently mentioned in Gavin and Stacey, but never seen.
Not a comedy, but I do remember a kids drama from the early eighties called The Baker Street Boys, where a group of street kids helped Sherlock Holmes solve crimes. All you saw of Holmes was a silhouette, while his wife spoke on his behalf.

Beverley Macca never appeared on The Royle Family.

Mrs Columbo in 'Columbo.'

Most of his face was obscured by the garden fence so we never saw more than the hat and eyes of Wilson the neighbour in Tim Allen's 'Home Improvement.'

Yes we did see Daddy, quite frequently when he went missing and they had to arrange a search party for him.

The closest we got to seeing Elizabeth Mainwaring is her bulky bottom protruding from the top bunk in the air raid shelter.
She does appear in the Dad's Army film though.
