I think Kit will be diagnosed with breast cancer. It will be a TV first for a man to get breast cancer I believe.

My husband carries the BRCA1 gene and discovered a big lump in his chest. After tests at the breast clinic they decided it was caused by one of his meds and not breast cancer thankfully. The clinic was very busy and he was the only male in there.

I was right then.

I hope they will highlight the fact that within the last year they have discovered that the BRCA1 gene can also increase the risk of pancreatic cancer which is what my son was diagnosed with last August.
Previously they knew it was linked to other cancers but not pancreatic cancer which is the absolute worst cancer with the lowest survival rate as it is often diagnosed too late.

I thought tonight’s episode was much better, far more realistic than of late.

Hope Kit makes it through his breast cancer, a rare one to highlight for men, so will raise awareness.

Hope your son is doing ok Primrose, what a lot of worry you have had.

So sorry to hear this. One of my SIL's works in this field and he tells me there is more research money going to pancreatic cancer. The initial symptoms are vague and often dismissed as nothing serious until, as you say, it is too late. Ovarian cancer is very similar. Thinking of you.

She is a very pretty girl.

So fed up with Jodie, who can’t act, and just seems to walk about with her mouth pouting all the time.

Thank you. Yes the symptoms are very vague. My son felt perfectly well. I just noticed that his face had a very slight yellow tinge to it but as he is a keen cyclist and always outdoors he had a good tan so it was barely noticeable.

I am so pleased to hear more money is going into research as it is on the increase especially in younger people. I also read that a kind of breath test has been developed for GPs to use if patients present with very vague symptoms.

I personally know of 5 people who have died from PC before my son was diagnosed and it is very scary. 3 were in their 40s, one was in her 60s and one was about 70.

I should have said that after he was diagnosed we mentioned to Addenbrooke’s about his Dad having the BRCA gene. They tested him and he also has it so it was likely caused by this. At the time my husband was tested they offered testing for my children. Daughter was tested and was clear. Son did not want to be tested. Hospital said it would have made no difference because it’s only recently that they knew it was linked to the pancreas.

On the morning of his op we had about 4 people arriving to ask him to give consent for parts of his pancreas to be donated for testing which he did.

That must have been very hard for you all, Primrose.

I thought last night’s episode was well done, Kit’s reactions especially. Though in my experience the doctor is a bit less abrupt when giving the diagnosis (the fact that a nurse is sitting with him or her is never a good sign though).

For once I was so keen to get to the next episode that I’ve just looked for today’s on ITVX. Only to find Corrie’s not on tonight - it’s been cancelled in favour of the National TV Awards.

We always take second place irrespective of what is being shown. I also was looking forward to tonight's episode.

It happens all the time. Perhaps there should be a Soap Channel.

When watching Corrie last night (Monday), I felt that an episode had been missed out, although there wasn’t one on Sunday (as there sometimes is) according to the TV guide. There just seemed to be a few gaps in the storylines. Maybe, though, I just wasn’t concentrating enough, as I do tend to multi-task whilst Corrie is on these days as most of it isn’t worth warching. I don’t know why I do watch it anymore. It’s probably just escapism for 30 minutes.

So not on tonight. Strange how disappointed I am when. I moan so much about it.

David looks so much better with short hair.

Calendar girl. Jodie is like a cat burglar as no matter which residence she wishes to enter she is there in a trice. As for Bethany and Kit, I thought they were discussing Kit leaving het with her young brother. However, it seems as if something did happen between them and the question is why didn’t we know about it?

We heard the other night that Kit and Bethany slept together, but never saw evidence of the deed, just a wine glass with lipstick on and Kit bedding down on the sofa.

I almost didn't recognise David.

From snippets of conversation I knew Kit and Bethany had slept together. I hope she doesn't announce a pregnancy later from the one-night stand.

I can't tell the difference between Shona and Jodie, I wish the latter would go, taking the gun in the loft with her.

Meanwhile I think Kit is being acted very well. He is a prickly character but really loved Sarah Lou.

I agree Aveline. The sooner she leaves the happier I will be. She is a nasty waste of space.

At least Todd has sobered up, trying to help Kit. Is the former still employed because he rarely appears to be at the funeral parlour. Work is slow, Dr. Gaddas is keeping everybody healthy.

I don’t think David’s hair does suit him he has such a small head and face I didn’t like the long stuff either but something in between would have been better
I m really not looking forward to Corrie in the same way I used to Perhaps it’s the story lines or the fact it’s on and off and doesn’t feel as stable as it used to, I liked the 7.30 slot a lot better

I wouldn’t say David’s hair suits him as such, just that it looks so much better than the tangled, uncombed mop he used to have.

I know he has hair problems in real life, but it looked awful.

BlueBelle I don't think romance played a part in Kit and Bethany's bunk up. More like alcohol and loneliness played the part.

Well, I'm happy that David has had his hair cut. There were times when I would have liked to pull his head out of the tv screen and cut his messy birds nest hair for him. Ha! ha!
