New thread.

Doodledog Fri 04-Sept-26 22:18:34

Me too, unfortunately.

I know these things happen, but come on - Shona and David seem to be happy enough, and why on this green earth would she trust Jodie to keep something like that to herself, even after two glasses of wine? And apart from that - they are sisters!!

There's not enough alcohol on the planet to persuade me that that would be a good idea.

Bukkie Fri 04-Sept-26 21:41:47

Calendargirl - I interpreted it the same as you.

Calendargirl Fri 04-Sept-26 21:18:33

So was Kit supposed to be in a ‘ménage a trois’ with Shona and Jodie, or am I just reading too much into the ending of tonight’s episode?

Poor Harper, what a family!

BlueBelle Fri 04-Sept-26 08:09:19

I found Corrie unremarkable last night, in fact I m finding myself doing other things while it’s on lately.
I think they ve gone way over the top and way too quickly on the Debbie dementia story. It’s becoming a bit of a silly story.
Afraid I thought the hair (Bethany) was awful and Kit must be desperate to consider Jodie 🤮

Calendargirl Fri 04-Sept-26 07:20:05

Yes, yet again another quick GP visit.

The awful Jodie looked like she was trying to eat poor Kit!

I thought how pretty Bethany looked tonight, even with her Dynasty hair.

Has Shona ever been seen holding, feeding or cuddling this baby who, a few short months ago was so very poorly she might not have survived?

She just seems to be constantly irritated with everyone and everything.

Poor Debbie is going downhill fast.

Primrose53 Thu 03-Sept-26 22:22:41

Shona gets baby Harper in to see a Dr within hours. That would never happen here!

Aveline Thu 03-Sept-26 20:06:30

That makes a sort of sense. He's always so horrible about Gail too. Also, where's Audrey?

Calendargirl Thu 03-Sept-26 19:39:12

Aveline

Another one? But that's the actor. Where's David supposed to be?

Visiting Gail in France.

Bukkie Thu 03-Sept-26 18:34:38

Hair not heir!! Autocorrect confused

Aveline Thu 03-Sept-26 17:11:01

Another one? But that's the actor. Where's David supposed to be?

Bukkie Thu 03-Sept-26 17:07:52

I think Jack P Shepherd is away having a heir transplant.

FindingNemo15 Thu 03-Sept-26 13:18:54

Last night Shona said David was away - where?

Sarnia Thu 03-Sept-26 12:56:15

Aveline

*Primrose53*- that's awful!

Awful, but true. A friend rang me yesterday to update me on her husband's progress, post surgery. She phoned her GP for a visit from the nurse to do dressings. Neither of them have ever driven. She was told someone would get back to her. Later in the afternoon she went to answer the door to find she was being handed boxes of dressings for her to use.

Re Ronnie’s job. Ages ago, he and Ed seemed to go into business together building some new houses/flats.

Did they ever get built? Ed is a one man band, so would take a while.

As for where Lauren lives, must be at a childcare nursery, as she rarely has to mind Frankie.

She is either serving punters at the Rovers looking mardy, cuddling with Ollie, or visiting poor Betsy, who would be better off without her.

Calendargirl Thu 03-Sept-26 12:27:19

Yes, Shona is already fed up with little Harper, despite being bereft when she was in hospital all those months after her birth. She looks remarkably well now, which is good.

Jodie’s past seems to have been forgotten again. How many times have David and Shona ordered her to leave, but she still seems firmly entrenched in the Platt household.

Now she looks ready to lure Kit into her web.

Don’t do it Kit!

Bukkie Thu 03-Sept-26 11:40:19

Calendargirl you are spot on. But as I said in an earlier post they don't follow these stories through. Shona seemed frustrated with Harper last night (who is now in the childcare cupboard) Summer's diabetes was forgotten for years, there have been more transplants than anywhere else in the country etc....
What job does Ronnie do? Where does Lauren live?

Charleygirl5 Thu 03-Sept-26 08:41:39

Dr, Gaddas's locum must be exhausted after working 2 weeks there. At everybody's beck and call and having the time to do unnecessary house visits.

I wonder where Todd is heading? I used to like the character but now he is a drunken lout. He will end up in prison if he isn't careful.

In real life Kit didn't realise men could get breast cancer so it has done some good because he will not be alone.

Calendargirl Thu 03-Sept-26 07:07:44

How many health stories in one street?

The ones I can recall are breast cancer, MND, epilepsy, kidney disease, Harper’s surgery, Frankie’s ill health, diabetes, dementia, other cancers (Hayley, Siobhan), bipolar, alcoholism, mental health issues, depression, limb amputations, stomas, ….

There must be more, but we really don’t need a new one every other episode.

Clawdy Wed 02-Sept-26 20:01:53

More ticking boxes, it gets tedious.

Bukkie Wed 02-Sept-26 13:21:37

I wish they would stop showing Gemma shovelling food into her mouth like she is starving, whilst screeching at others to not eat their fair share because she was taking it home for the quads. It's tedious and unnecessary. Her mother Bernie doesn't eat like it.

Aveline Tue 01-Sept-26 21:20:34

Primrose53- that's awful!

Calendargirl Tue 01-Sept-26 21:05:17

Yes, also amazed that Bernie warranted a home visit when she isn’t even ill, but Doctor Gaddas is the GP we all want.

The woman must be due for an NHS Saint Award.

And didn’t she look so pretty with her grey/white hair?

Primrose53 Tue 01-Sept-26 20:47:24

I want to live In’t Street! 🤣🤣
You get a home visit from your GP at the drop of a hat.

When my husband came out of hospital after a major stroke I asked for a home visit for the first time in our lives.
I was asked did I have a car and why I couldn’t take him to the surgery. I said because he cannot walk and I physically cannot get him in the car. I was told to ask a neighbour to help!

Aveline Tue 01-Sept-26 15:16:34

Oh yes!!
