New thread.

Aveline Fri 07-Aug-26 08:31:47

I'll be recording it while I'm away so will avoid this thread as I don't want spoilers!

Is everyone aware it is not on tonight? I think it is rugby . We had an hour's viewing at the beginning of the week, I think but I will keep a watchful eye for Sunday night.

Is Ross to be a permanent fixture? His wig looks awful.

Lauren must have a very good babysitter as she appears to be out and about when the fancy takes her.

Sally handled the difficult conversation very well with Joanie.

Corrie went up a notch or two in my estimation, but they mustn't tackle too many large storylines at once.

Aveline Fri 07-Aug-26 06:50:38

Just don't watch it Denise14

I’m fed up with corrie. Every week someone is in Hospital. It’s like they have no ideas left, except put someone in a hospital bed. And that nasty platt sister storyline is going just round in circles. End it please!

Mamo Thu 06-Aug-26 18:16:38

I thought the scene where Sally has a chat with the older foster child, Joanie (?), about what happened Betsy, was excellent. The young teen was mortified at first, but Sally emphasized what a dangerous practice sexual choking is very clearly, with a touch of humour. We could really see Joanie taking the advice on board. Well done Sally for just getting on with a difficult conversation!! 👏

Glad Sally had ‘the talk’ with Joanie.

Intended to highlight the sexual strangulation with teenagers.

Well done for that.

Aveline Thu 06-Aug-26 16:08:49

Her dysphasic/dysarthric speech is good too.

sodapop Thu 06-Aug-26 15:42:49

She has certainly proved she can act tanith well researched performance.

Betsy (actress Sidney Martin) sat for hours while her team created a silicone mask of her face and made 3 prosthetics from it so her face realistically portrayed her stroke.

Aveline Thu 06-Aug-26 14:57:03

Oh no! What's come over us all? People actually praising Corrie! What a turn up!

Calendargirl Thu 06-Aug-26 09:04:38

That’s true BlueBelle, we don’t know how long she has had dementia.

This has obviously been brought in to highlight the challenges facing Debbie, Ronnie and all those other families.

Aveline Thu 06-Aug-26 08:39:49

Betsy is acting her head off! I'd no idea how good she was before this. An interesting storyline and well done by all.

I know Aveline it's so frustrating for Betsy though ( think I'm getting over involved in the story line) Finally tonight Lauren has understood a bit more.

I agree. Betsy was about to head off to university and an independent life, then after the accident her mum prevents her from seeing her boyfriend when she’s not able to do so off her own bat. That’s abusive, not caring, IMO.

BlueBelle Thu 06-Aug-26 06:49:35

Do we know she has nt been assessed though Calandergirl it’s only been a story the last couple of episodes Just because she’s living at home doesn’t mean she hasn’t been assessed

Calendargirl Thu 06-Aug-26 06:40:34

Sienna’s mother’s dementia was only mentioned the other day, now they are visiting what I assume are care homes or day centres.

Surely they would be going to the GP and getting her properly assessed, particularly as Sienna works for the NHS and must know what procedures are involved?

That's human nature though sodapop

I do wish Lauren would listen to Betsy and not just make assumptions based on her own experiences. Lisa also.

I’ve read that the actress who plays Cassie is leaving to appear in the musical Annie.

She may possibly then return after that.

BlueBelle Tue 04-Aug-26 22:09:37

Lovely Ronnie and lovely Debbie tonight

Bukkie Tue 04-Aug-26 21:34:42

Wasn't Ruby the one sending Hope horrible messages online?

Beechnut Tue 04-Aug-26 19:27:46

Ruby never seems to get a story line of her own, or have I missed something?

Bukkie Tue 04-Aug-26 18:25:17

Lovely Ryan needs a lovely lady. I too warmed to Cassie after a slow start. Her and Hope were two of a kind and developing a good relationship.

Cabowich Tue 04-Aug-26 16:35:57

Last night's episode was really good in that it showed dementia at its awful worst. No wonder Debbie rushed to her laptop to look up assisted dying.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this storyline pans out.

As if Cassie would have got in the car with him!

But if she thought Tracy had reported her to the police….?

Plus how was she to know Steve was just round the corner, ready to forgive her (again)?
