I started to watch this just because it's set in Jersey but found myself really enjoying it. Completely different from the old series.

It’s already been on either Channel 4 or 5 or Drama, a few months ago.

I thought it was quite good.

I know it's been around for a while on various streaming platforms but I never bothered until recently and finding nothing much to watch. I didn't expect much which really added to my enjoyment when I realised it was pretty good. A nice surprise.

I was a bit unsure about this having been a fan of the old Bergerac but it is good. Philip Glenister and Zoe Wanamaker are such good actors too.

Have watched both series, and thoroughly enjoyed them.

I did have to forget all about the originals.

Oh yes it's nothing like the original so it's very easy to forget. I'm looking forward to the next episode and series.

It’s on my list to watch, I used to like John Nettles in the first version☺️

I watched a couple, but he is just not the right look or character for Bergerac in my opinion. I liked John Nettles. I prefer him in Midsomer Murders too.

Me too😃

Yes, never taken to the new Barnaby in Midsomer Murders, and some of the story lines are rubbish.

Sorry everyone, but I am going to throw a spanner in the works. I was involved with the original series through spending uni summers in Jersey in the early 80s with family. I did not enjoy the new series at all because I knew the settings, actors and filming background through my summer jobs there. I think the film company missed a great opportunity to create a new detective series about a Cornish detective who they could have invented from scratch, not rehashing an old trope. Also, hardly any of the scenes are set in Jersey but in Cornwall and Devon and that 'foreign French' flavour has been completely lost. In the original series they really made an effort to capture that Jersey spirit. It's a 'No' from me.

That’s interesting SpinDrift and I wonder why they didn’t film in Jersey?Cheaper to do it here?
There’s already a Cornish detective series tho, Kris Marshall in the main role.

Agree.

I just enjoy it. I don't overthink it at all.

I really enjoyed it, the storyline flowed well and Zoe Wanamaker was perfect as ‘Charlie’.

I look forward to another series.
