I agree - and some of the cases are very sad.
It now amuses me when crime dramas investigate murders with just a few detectives - in reality the team would be much bigger.

Me too. I hadn’t come across this before so went back to watch the earlier series, which is necessary for the DPD murder. The painstaking work on that was remarkable.

Sometimes I find the police questioning a bit haphazard and not as good as one might expect but that’s probably through having watched too many scripted crime dramas. It must be frustrating when dealing with those who exercise their right to remain silent or “no comment”.

I’m a big fan of Law & Order USA (and the old UK version with Bradley Walsh which comes around on repeat every now and again). I'd like to see the trials too.

Some cases where loving family members have been pushed to the limits are very moving.

If you like Murder 24/7 then I would also recommend 24 Hours in Police Custody on Channel 4, which usually focuses on Bedfordshire Police investigations.

Yes it's a fascinating watch. It must be such a relief to the team when they get a guilty verdict after all the work and effort they put into catching the criminals

Another fan here. Fascinating how the digital world helps the detectives. CCTV cameras have not always been popular but they are a godsend to tracking down a suspect's movements.

I find this programme fascinating.The police entering these horrific crime scenes show great compassion and courage. The laborious and often frustrating process of gaining a conviction is honestly portrayed.

Apparently I was told by a detective, they prefer that they say no comment. If they give false information the police have to use valuable police time checking it out, as nothing can be ignored.

This is my area too and he looked uncomfortably familiar. My grandaughter has just been accepted into the police and I dread to think of the horrors she'll encounter along the way!

I was a SW in the area and am pretty sure our paths crossed at some point.

Yes we watched it too.It is fascinating and you always hope that justice is served.
Digital Detectives is another ine worth watching. Sometimes in a case there is so little to go on to begin finding suspects but once they get phone activity,cctv,bank card usage,chip and pin etc it's amazing how they can piece everything together.

I'm captivated by these types of programmes & so pleased when they go to trial & get what they deserve. It doesn't always work out to the polices' advantage tho. They must get so frustrated. Sometimes the punishment doesn't always fit the crime. For example the early prisoner release project. Makes me frustrated so I can't imagine how those working so hard to get justice for the victims & their families must feel. The system could be better.

I watched one earlier this week and was horrified at the cctv showing a horrible suspect walking down a busy station platform.

We never know the evil people that walk amongst us.

I have all the old (well most) of the US Law and order series on DVD. They were and are excellent. As it this series.

I've enjoyed this series as well . I'm fascinated by how the detectives start with nothing, then gradually build their case .
I was pleased to see that they eventually caught and tried the second car of four young men , in a recent case . I thought they were going to escape justice .

I've often thought that I would have enjoyed being a detective ( I was a teacher ). But I don't think that I could have coped with the initial policing ( RTA , theft , and murder ) - which presumably one has to go through before .
