TV license scam warning

MY DH received a really official looking email telling us our TV license payment had not gone through.

It had all of the correct official stuff at the bottom. He was about to click, and turned to ask me if it was due. Thankfully it was not, so he actually looked further and asked me to check.

Yes, it was a scam, but a really good one, looking as if it had been copied from the real one.

Yes, I had this the other day. It does look very official until you check the senders email address.

I forwarded it onto the phishing people at gov.uk.

Why do these Scanners keep getting away with it. Isn't about time someone started to prosecute them?

They are absolute low life and should be taken to task.

Yes, nearly fell for that myself.

Yes we’ve had several of these emails. But as my husband is entitled to a free tv licence I was very suspicious. But as it made him very anxious I tried to ring them but you can’t get through to anyone they just keep telling you to go on the web site. Eventually I did find a way to speak to someone who reassured us it was a scam. Wicked to worry us like that.
