Is anyone enjoying this mediocre embarrassing program ?

Anniebach Sat 21-Apr-18 20:38:43

How can anyone complain that she has an easy life , this concert is awful and she has to sit through it , poor woman

merlotgran Sat 21-Apr-18 20:40:54

Even the younger Royals look bored stiff.

Still time to bail out, Meghan grin

Not watching, bet the Queen hated it. I read recently that she knows the words to all the George Formby songs. A bit different from Shaggy!

Lovely venue, lovely box, hope she has a large g and t under her chair though

Pittcity Sat 21-Apr-18 21:29:16

I bet Kate and Phil are watching the other side and laughing their socks off!

merlotgran Sat 21-Apr-18 21:33:30

Pity Kate isn't there. Going into labour might liven things up a bit.

Pittcity Sat 21-Apr-18 21:35:22

Will should have pretended she had and rushed off merlot!

lemongrove Sat 21-Apr-18 21:37:13

Merlot grin

merlotgran Sat 21-Apr-18 21:44:58

I did wonder if that's why Jenny Agutter was there. grin

Perfect get out for Will, I would have faked labour tbh

grannyticktock Sat 21-Apr-18 22:01:25

Faking labour isn't really an option for Her Maj. She did look bored whenever the camera caught her, poor old soul, she should be in bed with a cup of cocoa.

Poor lady having to sit through that on her birthday! You'd think that somebody might have gone to the trouble to find out what she really would like to be entertained by and acted accordingly! 92 and that's all that was on offer!!

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 13:05:40

The idiot who arranged that concert should have been locked in the tower

Teetime Mon 23-Apr-18 14:08:42

It was truly awful wasn't it and the whole Royal Box looked bored. Lowest spot for me Frank Skinner and his ukulele/bango crowd. The George Formby thing is big here with a whole Ukulele Orchestra that is wheeled out for every event and believe it or not a queue of people waiting to join. For me GF couldn't sing, told unfunny jokes and looked odd. I know the times were different but what's the attraction now?

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 14:39:40

The queen was a fan when young , it was suppose to be a concert for her not for Shaggy and Sting fans

Oldwoman70 Mon 23-Apr-18 15:03:55

Only saw the last bit of this - what I saw was awful. My bet is the Queen was wishing she was home watching re-runs of Death in Paradise with a nice G&T.

DanniRae Mon 23-Apr-18 20:02:27

Terrible evening out for her and she had her best frock on too!

KatyK Tue 24-Apr-18 10:34:42

It's just me then. I rather enjoyed some of this, although I agree that a lots of the acts were totally unsuitable for the Queen. Sting and Shaggy? Why? We recorded it and fast forwarded the bits we didn't like but we enjoyed Tom Jones and the drummers, Alfie Boe and the chap singing Oh What a Beautiful Morning. I do agree that the royals looked bored.

paddyann Tue 24-Apr-18 11:33:08

now*KatyK * dont stereotype queenie ,just because she's old doesn't mean she only likes ancient music acts.I know loads of older folk who love new music..it is allowed you know .She might well listen to Sting and Shaggy while she's opening her mail....lol

merlotgran Tue 24-Apr-18 13:29:40

The Queen opens her own mail? shock

KatyK Tue 24-Apr-18 14:21:16

Oh yes paddyann that was very judgemental of me! I bet she may well bop around to their music as she goes about her duties smile

nigglynellie Tue 24-Apr-18 14:25:28

KatyK grin

KatyK Tue 24-Apr-18 14:29:01

Well you never know.........
