Why have we joined up with Mumsnet.

I was quite surprised to see Mumsnet tacked onto the end of our daily forums.

Personally, I’m not that interested in their opinions, as they differ somewhat to my own views.

Also, it seems to be ok for some of them to use the F word.

Not my cup of tea , I’m afraid.

Did they request this, or are they part of the organisation?

Hi, just a general question. I was wondering during if anyone had used a reliable dating site for over 60's . It's something I'm thinking of trying but very nervous.

DH's favourite "oh sugar plum fairies". ?.
I've never bothered with mumsnet. I found this site when looking for answers to a Google question which I can't remember now.

Let's have our favourite expletives, the Mumsnetters might learn something from us! grin

Mine is bloomin' smile

Calendargirl Sun 18-Jul-21 20:43:48

As for the expletives, well I think they’re ok, it’s everyday life now

More’s the pity.

Meryl streep- of course … you are right!! Good advice - I’ll keep my mouth shut!! 5 yr old prob testing me out with her almost rude word

welbeck Sun 18-Jul-21 18:39:56

Sorry wrong thread

Low self esteem is a horrible place to be, I have been there

It is so worth looking for help and addressing it.

Visgir1 Sun 18-Jul-21 18:30:43

Mumsnet can be hysterical love it. It was from that site I found this one. I look at both a few times a week. Gransnet can get a bit too political at times, which tbh puts me off.
As for the expletives well I think they are OK, its everyday life now.

To answer the OP, Mumsnet is the parent, we are the offshoot. We are second class citizens as the Mumsnet platform has much better features than Gransnet. No idea why these don't apply to both.

Infinity2 Sun 18-Jul-21 17:43:19

I think Gransnet is Mumsnet without the effs.

I know that if I were to mention anything to my daughter in relation as to how she or her husband speak she would tell me to duck off
It won’t be long before your granddaughter hears this at school.
What are you going to do the then? speak to the school?

Millie22 Sun 18-Jul-21 16:40:38

I do enjoy the Mumsnet Swears By section. Seems appropriate to me but anyway there has been some good suggestions on it.

You already overstepped once.

Callistemon Sun 18-Jul-21 16:30:44

SuzieHi

Really? Granddaughter aged 5 just told me daddy uses the rude word to mummy (that sounds like duck) when he’s cross. Just pondering whether to mention to parents or not. Don’t want friction with SIL. What would you do?

Has Daddy been on Mumsnet, learning new words?

No, don't mention it.

Hithere Sun 18-Jul-21 16:21:30

Suziehi
No, do not mention it
