I need some good advice and a lot of inspiration to help me return to work, aged 56, after a six year break. I've a degree in history and literature, almost four decades of now out-dated secretarial and admin experience and no idea what I'd like to do next. I'd convinced myself to give up and wait for retirement (?!?) rather than cope with continual disappointment and rejection but Gransnetters have made me realise what a mistake that is. With at least ten years before I become a real pensioner I need to do something - any advice folks?
Apparently - Employers are not working people
When did perimenopause become so popular?

Turn you age into a positive, put a sentence like "I believe that I have the skills, life experience and positive attitude to succeed in this role" at the end of any application letters.
