Feeling a bit wobbly about tomorrow!

Good morning all, can't stop feeling rather apprehensive about going in for my first trial day tomorrow, the job spec is incredibly broad, and totally unlike what I have done in the past.

I know the idea is to give it a go for three days and see if I like it, (and of course if they like me) but I'm a tad worried that is going to be more housekeeping than office! (At the second interview they asked me how I felt about ironing shock )

There is also the thing about the other interview next week. I think that I will see how tomorrow goes, and then be honest and tell them that I have been invited to interview for another position and will be attending, and therefore would like to keep my options open.

Any thoughts?

@ phoenix. I knew you meant that too phoenix, I was just backing you up! smile

Nah Phoenix you just chose to live in beautiful part of the country with not many jobs (in this life) and then the banking crisis happened and there were even fewer jobs. If you lived in MK you would have job offers coming out of your ears.

newist Don't be daft! And I hope that you don't take that in the wrong way! smile

Oh heavens, I thought I had explained that I didn't have a problem with cleaning toilets, or anything else for that matter!

newist Wed 05-Feb-14 23:12:54

Lona you are so right. Respect

Lona Wed 05-Feb-14 23:07:33

phoenix There's no shame in cleaning toilets.
I went from being the (working) wife of a millionaire to working behind a bar and cleaning the pub, including the mens' toilets!
A job is a job and you need the money sunshine

pheonix its just a journey, its a bit bumpy at the moment, it will pass. do not think about what was, that will not help you. Better things await you, Believe smile

You are right Nonu !

jingl wrong! I'm not that "precious" ! For now, if I'm asked to clean bogs (as you put it) then bogs I will clean!

Oh my, where did it all go so wrong, one minute dealing with clients such as British Gas, Unilever, National Lottery, Nuffield health & Confused.com, the next cleaning, ironing and checking if enough bog rolls have been supplied to villa confused Cloud 9 !

(Must have done something v. bad in previous life!)

Charleygirl Wed 05-Feb-14 18:40:24

I just hope that the ironing does not include the old man's shirts and I am not talking about Mr. P!

Nonu Wed 05-Feb-14 18:31:06

Nevertheless it"s a JOB < PHO < regardless !!
Money in the bank !!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 05-Feb-14 18:21:23

If they tell to clean the bogs, you walk out. Right?!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 05-Feb-14 18:20:24

Yes. Let's look forward to Wednesday. smile

Well done for giving it your best shot.

Charleygirl Wed 05-Feb-14 18:14:22

Onwards and upwards, you have next Wednesday's interview to prepare for.

Have you seen a job description for the present job yet?

I will keep the fingers and toes crossed for next week.

Ana Wed 05-Feb-14 17:48:20

Oh dear, ironing...
I had assumed that as Head of Housekeeping you'd be able to delegate, not have to do it yourself!

merlotgran Wed 05-Feb-14 17:44:33

DH is laughing at your description of Z. He's met him once and wouldn't disagree with you.

He's a very popular eccentric in the world of fishing.

Anne58 Wed 05-Feb-14 17:41:09

Well, I survived day one grin but still have misgivings about the role hmm

It seems as if the office side will be around 20%, with the remaining 80% being housekeeping, cleaning and ironing shock!

The owner is as mad as a box of frogs.

Marelli Wed 05-Feb-14 17:39:24

How did it go, phoenix? smile

Icyalittle Wed 05-Feb-14 09:47:52

Of course you are wobbly after so long phoenix. You would be even if it was exactly what you were doing before smile.
I hope everything goes to plan today anyway. flowers
