Voluntees wanted for water vole project

Do you want to help monitor one of Britain's most threatened mammals?
The Trossachs Water Vole Project has successfully reintroduced a
population of Water Voles to Forestry Commission sites in the Trossachs.
They are looking for volunteers to help survey and monitor the new
population and will be providing information and training on 23rd April
2014.

"Ratty" from Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows is actually a water vole!

Not sure that counts, but it may interest them to know about it. A dead one does prove that there used to a live one there.

The hedgehog project wants counts of dead and living ones. It should be the same for water voles.

I think it is the ones that have been re-introduced, and their descendents, that are to be surveyed.
