It worries me hugely, because my son has been in the CCF since he was 13 and now is in the OTC while he is at Uni, so currently he is a reservist but cannot be called upon. However, I know he loves it and will want to carry on, and only a few weeks ago I saw an old email that had been sent to a cousin's friend's father saying that rations had been cut to two meals a day due to a 'glitch', while they were in Afghanistan.
Over the years, we have laughed at the ration packs he has brought home, as many of them have been years out of date. DBH's family are all ex-forces, DBH used to be in the RAF, they are only too aware of the way that when new kit comes in the reservists get the old surplus stuff, and CCF get the old reservist kit. But 19 year olds believe they are immortal.
