Well done phoenix, not a bad talent, generating your own new job! wink

Thank you all, much appreciated! grin

shysal I tried the over glasses (as I have to wear prescription ones) and they were fine as long as I was in an area with street lights. As soon as I turned off into the unlit lanes they were too dark for me to able to see properly.

I ended up taking them on and off like a whores drawers!

Brilliant news. Well done, and don't bother about the pussies, they'll soon agree on shared territory, sleep til you come home and make a fuss to get attention.

Congratulations Phoenix! You obviously impressed them! flowers wine
I used to have problems with driving in the dark, but am much more comfortable since buying some cheap night-driving spectacles from Ebay. They can be proper glasses or clip-ons to wear over prescription ones.

Great news Phoenix, well done.

Thank you Ana! Just hoping I'll be ok with the night driving vision thing once the clocks change and I'm driving in the dark.

sunseeker Mon 11-Aug-14 16:46:57

Of course Ana thanks - I'm a bit slow today!!

Well done phoenix - hope this works out for you.

I applied for an admin job, got an interview, was in there ages. The chap said he was interviewing 6 candidates, and felt it was only fair to warn me that 2 of them had previous experience in the relevant sector. He kept going back to other sections on my CV and asking about them.

All of a sudden he threw his pen down on the desk and said "Well, you've got me completely flummoxed! I wasn't looking to expand the sales department, but would you consider that sort of role?"

I said that perhaps he needed to have a think and get back to me, but in the meantime I would email him a reference if he wanted one. I don't usually use that reference for admin jobs, as it is very sales biased. When I got home, I sent it to him, he phoned about an hour later and asked if I could come in to spend an hour with D & A, the chaps in the sales dept, the next day, although he wouldn't be there. I think the idea was for them to give him their opinion as to whether I would fit in. I did that the next day, then today he phoned and offered me a job.

The salary is very low, but it's better than the nothing that I'm currently earning, and being employed again will hopefully help with the depression.
