Awful company, test on animals and tried to lie about it for years.

Nelliemoser Fri 06-Feb-15 13:36:44

It almost pyramid selling isn't it? The area organiser gets paid from the efforts of the people she recruits so on down the line.

Does anyone remember Amway? Which I would never bother with. It sounds like a hiding to nothing to me.

Ana Fri 06-Feb-15 13:25:12

Oh I see you have answered - you are accusing me of dishonesty!

Well, all I can do is repeat what I've said previously, which is that the OP is not 'selling' anything.

I won't bother reporting your unfair and insulting slur.

Riverwalk Fri 06-Feb-15 13:21:02

Yes, Ana disingenuous.

You've been around GN long enough to know that commercial concerns can't advertise without paying a fee.

Ana Fri 06-Feb-15 13:20:52

Perhaps you'd like to answer my question, Riverwalk? Are you, in fact, accusing me of dishonesty?

Riverwalk Fri 06-Feb-15 13:17:41

Not your wrinkles personally kitty grin

I could do with some serum, not fussy which brand

kittylester Fri 06-Feb-15 13:06:57

River crikey the wrinkles must be bad if you can see them from there!!

Perhaps HQ will let us know their decision and why they made it!

Ana Fri 06-Feb-15 12:55:24

Are you sure you mean 'disingenuous' Riverwalk? hmm
I do hope not...

Riverwalk Fri 06-Feb-15 12:52:44

There's obviously no problem with GNHQ Ana as the thread is still here!

But I think you're being a bit disingenuous in not seeing that offering jobs and selling products are, in this instance, the same thing. Avon is a commercial entity, not a public service.

Ana Fri 06-Feb-15 12:30:12

I still don't see the problem. The company is offering jobs, not trying to sell us its products.

Riverwalk Fri 06-Feb-15 12:27:44

I'm surprised that GNHQ haven't deleted this thread, as it's obviously a commercial company trying to make money.

Unless all proceeds are going to charity? hmm

Or they've paid the fee? smile

Riverwalk Fri 06-Feb-15 12:19:22

kitty next time ask for free samples before you report grin

I hear their anti-wrinkle serum is very good!

glammanana Fri 06-Feb-15 11:21:27

I do think volunteering is a totally different thing and should be free in most cases, but advertising to become an agent for a multi-national company should which makes its Millions producing its products in Poland therefore not supporting a UK workforce should be paid for imo.

Ana Fri 06-Feb-15 11:16:25

Well, GNHQ will be the judge of that.

durhamjen Fri 06-Feb-15 11:14:02

It's asking people to sell. It's an advert for Avon. It should be paid for.

Ana Fri 06-Feb-15 10:31:21

It's asking people to apply to be agents, which I would have thought was appropriate on the Work and Volunteering forum.

I have to admit that I don't like being addressed as "lovely grandparents" either. I am all sorts of things but probably not lovely. Patronising or what?

kittylester Fri 06-Feb-15 06:04:30

That was my thought absent!

absent Fri 06-Feb-15 05:44:53

Because this advertising has to be paid for according to GNHQ rules, I think.

Ana Thu 05-Feb-15 21:26:00

Why?

kittylester Thu 05-Feb-15 21:21:04
