Hi. I wonder if anyone out there has any experiences to share about returning to work in a brand new career following a period of time away from the workplace?
I'm 56, and hoping to return to some sort of career. I'm finding it really tough-tougher than I thought. I've established a very modest private piano teaching practice and I'd like to make a go of it. I have two grade 8s, and working towards a teaching Licentiate. I also have a PGCE.
I'm looking for examples of positive experiences of new careers following time away from the workplace, and particularly any experiences of becoming a private teacher.
Volunteering is not an option for me because my relationship has broken down and I need to earn enough to live independently (still living with long-term DP at present).
Any thoughts?
