I have a job!!! had interview last Tuesday, induction this Wednesday :)

I think Lady Luck is smiling on you Bikergran - get thee to the lottery shop quick!

We shop at our local Tesco Extra and they have a lot of ladies of a certain age who are brilliant, very friendly and approachable and efficient. I would much rather put any query to them rather than the wet-behind-the-ears students who also work there!

bikergran I am (almost) envious of your new adventure. When I walk past my local Waitrose of a late evening when the store is closed, through the window I see "women of a certain age" happily working together stacking shelves (or whatever it is they're doing), chatting and smiling. Then I wonder "Do you live close by?" and I think what a lovely part time job that is. It always looks so peaceful.

Our local Waitrose is a very happy place generally, the staff are always laughing and kidding around when I go in there during the day.

Well done biker. Welcome to the Grannies workforce. I got my cleaning job at 62, after I'd retired from nursing. There are jobs out there, if you don't mind strange hours. I hope you enjoy working at Asda.

ohh how lovely to open up my GN and read all the well wishes..it has really made my day.

I have had so much support form Gnetters..from first joining and from then on my journey along that rugged path like so many other Gnetters....to think that we have all had so much support from lovely people who we/I have never met and probably never will, is something special, something that will last a lifetime, and when we look back in many years time we will think "yes Gnetters(our virtual friends) helped me/us through some tuff and sad times".But also shared our happy times Thanks for all the wine n flowers (will save the wine for later) (after breakfast maybe) x

I'm very happy for you biker. My SiL took a job with this company later in life and was much valued by them as a mature worker with great customer skills and always reliable.

PS : I loved it, stocking up the pet food aisle with a pricing gun, great fun!
