If you can access John Timpson’s Desert Island Discs then you are in for a treat. He and his wife have fostered many children and his support for ex offenders is admirable.

Typical of Timpsons. I met John Timpson in one of his shops and told him I was a regular reader of his column in the DT. He’s a lovely man, with the interests of his staff very much at heart, visits all his outlets, and was happy to pass the time of day with a customer. I wish you grandson well, Supernan!
