Do you want the role?
If the answer is yes then practice (several times) your interview technique - make up about 6 questions, answer them out loud and watch yourself in the mirror.
Example:
- tell us about a significant success you have had and what the outcome was?
Tell us about a project you worked on which didn’t go well and what you learned from it?
How would you deal with an emergency situation that occurred on Friday evening at 5.45?
How would your team members describe you?

Make notes and revise (as you might for a test/exam).
Try to use practical examples to back up any general statements and show what changed as a result.

You have the interview, thats the first step.
Preparation and practice, is the next.
Then go for it, with all your heart and energy.
Wishing you every success. ☘️

If you have been given an interview, you are worthy of the position- nobody wastes time on interviewing a no go candidate from the beginning

Thanks Mattmum2. I think if it was a similar position I'd feel better. The role is to manage people doing my position.

Maybe I'm putting pressure on myself but I'd feel like an imposter.

You will be fantastic, just be yourself x

I had a similar situation and had to get out of the job I was doing as I was told I was no good at it, primarily due to their lack of meaningful development.
I had an incentive for the interview as I wanted to get away from my awe full manager so maybe just focus on that, I’m sure you will be ok and best of luck xx

My bullying unsupportive micromanager has affected my confidence and motivation.

I have an interview for a step up job which I'll attend but I usually get the jobs at interview.

I know I have the ability to do the job but lack experience. On paper it looks like I can do the job, but reality is different as Ive been held back.

The job is technical, so I can't bluff it. It will be obvious if I can't do it. I always have a slight doubt and lack in confidence anyway, but this boss has impacted on me. (I'm not the only person).

I suppose if worse comes to the worse I'll be sacked and wont put it on my CV.

Any tips?
