Yes, I’ve done this in the past. Like you say, very rewarding and much appreciated by the library staff and parents who bring their children in.

Does anyone else take part in this annual volunteer scheme?

I love it and do it each year at my local library. Each stint is for a couple of hours. and over the course of the six weeks we get to know the other people volunteering at our library as they take over (or we take over from them).

The library staff are all so lovely and appreciative, as it would be extremely difficult for them to be able to fit in this extra workload on top of their normal tasks.

We can do as much or as little as we wish. This year I have been doing five days most weeks, and thorough enjoy it.
