We all write this poem

I built a castle on the moor
And all its doors were green
My dreams were ashes on the floor
But hope lived there, unseen.

I prayed for peace to come to me
And thought of golden days

I helped my friends in time of need
,joy came in other ways.

When lonely nights were long and cold
And sleep was hard to find

Peace came to me
And soothed my troubled mind

At last I slept and dreamed
Of Christmas and the star which shined

Over a Bethlehem stable
Where lay a child divine

I dreamed the world was free from strife
And people lived in peace

If only this were true in life
How can we make wars cease?

If only this were true in life

I'd feared, and clung, and built that tower
To keep what I did own

To treasure all my worldly goods
The memories I have sown

But worldly goods are transient
And crumble soon to dust

And youth I should have spent
