Picture book of the month

Four Silly Skeletons

This month, we're delighted to feature Four Silly Skeletons, the latest book by the talented Mark Sperring. He has teamed up with much-loved illustrator Sue Hendra to create the ideal picture book for children this Halloween.

"It's midnight!" shouted Skelly Sid.
"But what do we all care?
How can we think of sleeping
when there's music in the air...?"

Four silly skeletons dance off with a skip and a hop, and not one of them sees the great big drop! Luckily, Auntie June is there to patch them up. Even if they end up in a bit of a muddle.

A rollicking and rhythmical story that is perfect to read aloud with children - made even more zany and hilarious by Sue Hendra's bright and bold illustrations. This book is just right for making kids jump and then making them laugh.

Mark Sperring studied at Bath Academy of Art and Camberwell College of Art before working as a printer and a bookseller, and later becoming a children's author. Mark is the author of The Shape of My Heart, Snappy Birthday, Dino Mummy, Dino Baby, Dino Daddy and My Little Star. He currently lives in Bristol.

Sue Hendra is the creator of several bestselling picture books including Barry the Fish with Fingers and Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell. Four Silly Skeletons is Sue's fourth picture book for Bloomsbury.

Four Silly Skeletons is published by Bloomsbury and is available online and from all good booksellers. And we have 50 gorgeous copies to give away! See below to enter our draw.
