Ingredients

Flaked almonds
350g currants
350g sultanas
8 tbsp buttermilk
450g wholemeal self raising flour
3 eggs
350g muscovado sugar
200g butter (softened)

Handy Hint

Keep cake in baking parchment to keep it moist.

Method

1. Preheat oven to 140C. Grease or line a You need a deep round cake tin (about 23cm/9 inches). 2. Mix ingredients in bowl (except almonds) and beat until smooth.
3. Spoon into cake tin and sprinkle with almonds. 4. Bake for around 3/3 1/2 hours. Leave to cool and turn out.
