I think the kind of technology that works on phones also works on tablets. My DH said they presumably did not specify that it should work properly on all platforms. Given that it is the worlds biggest membership charity you'd think they could do this properly sad

How odd, as on my iPad, I don't get anything that revolves or jumps up. I followed links indiscriminately to see if I could find some stuff jumping up at me and it didn't happen.

The trendy (?) diagonal line irritates me though.

I expect NT thinks it's cool. [eye-rolling emoji]

YANBU. I hate moving stuff on what should be still pages too. I also dislike a lot of modern film-making because of the very fast (excessively fast) moving camera work.

I now put a postcard or thick envelope over those constantly changing ads at the side of gransnet threads.

I don't like scrolling, I start to feel queasy as well.

I can't watch such stuff on TV with hand held cameras wobbling about or views from helicopters. I need my travel pills.
It's a sea sick feeling.

I've just looked at it on my laptop. I can't honestly say I find any problems with it. You can search for what you want, you can click on each of the three revolving pictures at the top for more information. Do agree about the way info 'jumps' up as you scroll down. Can't see the point in that, TBH - I often think web developers do things just because they can, with no benefit to the website or site users.

jess just had a look on the iPad. Found it difficult to navigate and agree, the movement can be a bit difficult. Struggled to find what I was looking for because of the movement and then struggled to return to the previous page. Probably made worse by my general level of technological incompetence. confused. Guess we will have to get used to it though smile.

AIBU to dislike the new National Trust website so much?
My number one gripe is the way stuff moves on the screen. You can't just look at a page at a time and click on what you want, you have to scroll down. And as you scroll, more content swoops up from the bottom. (Well it does on our Macs anyway)
Now I don't have a visual problem or vertigo but it still makes me feel slightly queasy, all that movement. And the scrolling feels like a nuisance. But many older people do suffer from visual problems or vertigo and I don't think that is taken into consideration.
I've been told that "most people access the website via their phones" - and if you look at it on a phone it works better. But I hate looking at websites on my phone.
AIBU to think that the NT has a huge number of older members - not to mention volunteers, and that this website does not cater to their needs.
