I used to be a night owl, staying up till the early hours to finish a book or mending school clothes (!), and the struggle to get up for work/the school run was real! At weekends I would lie in till 10.00, leaving the kids to get themselves up (once they were old enough of course!)
But since I retired, that seems to have flipped and I am rarely in bed later than 10.30, and more often (especially in winter) it's 9.30. And then, of course, I'm up early, around 6.00. DH is the opposite - after years of early to bed and early to rise, he now stays up till way past midnight and surfaces around 9.00 am.
