Sorry yes it was Mamie's post about her MIL's obscure last words about St Swithin.

glammanana Fri 13-Jul-12 13:38:57

yes must have meant mamie I'm always in the wrong place or getting mistaken for someone else. ??

Anagram Fri 13-Jul-12 12:41:29

Oh yes - of course!

jeni Fri 13-Jul-12 12:40:49

I think she meant mamie

Anagram Fri 13-Jul-12 12:39:26

I think we're puzzled already, vampirequeen! grin
Wrong thread?

vampirequeen Fri 13-Jul-12 12:36:20

glammanana - what a brill thing to do. I'm going to say something obscure as I die and leave future generations puzzling lol

Lets hope it is nice on Sunday the children break up from school next week and I don't relish a rainy few weeks !!!

The last thing my MiL said before she died was "poor old St Swithin". We are still trying to work it out fifteen years later... (it was March at the time)

Annobel Fri 13-Jul-12 10:12:05

It's on Sunday - 15th July, which I can remember because it's my BiL's birthday and that reminds me: I need to post his card in the vain hope that it might reach him tomorrow. Have just looked at www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/England/Stockport/ - Norwegian meteorological site which is usually pretty accurate -
and the forecast for Sunday doesn't look too bad.

Nanaej, I really like that idea!

Is it Sunday or Monday? perhaps this year, if it happens to rain, St Swithin will be kind enough to allow the 40 days to be retrospective!

jeni Fri 13-Jul-12 09:50:10

Oh is it st swithins? The local forecast is forsunshine

Annobel Fri 13-Jul-12 09:49:13

I already has rained for that long it seems!

Nonu Fri 13-Jul-12 09:46:54

St Swithin"s Day if thou dost rain, for forty days it will remain.

St Swithin"s if thou be fair , for forty "twill rain na mair "

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday smile
