midlands venue vote

Could we use this thread for voting for a venue please?
The choice is
a) Strada at Brondley Place
b) Museum/Gallery Edwardian Tearooms
c) House of Fraser restaurant
Single transferable vote, of course grin. Seriously, vote for 1 option and we will discard the bottom option after the first vote, if it is close and have a second vote between the top 2 options!
If you don't mind either way please say so.

OK, try again
Brindley Place!
You can check google maps to see distance from New Street for the venues. Brindley Place is the furthest, but not a long walk through Victoria Square if you come thrugh the back entrance of New Street. However, jeni and others would probably find they wanted to black cab it. I think the other 2 arre roughly equidistant and certainly walkable without too much trouble.

I vote for b) Museum/Gallery Edwardian Tearooms

Helmar Sat 04-Aug-12 13:28:43

I would prefer The Edwardian Tearooms because it is larger and more spacious.

glitabo Sat 04-Aug-12 13:32:10

b) Museum/Gallery Edwardian Tearooms is my choice.

b) Museum + Edwardian Tearooms (my choice from experience smile not sure yet if can definitely make it on Oct 6th though)

JessM Sat 04-Aug-12 14:21:53

Option B

Hunt the thread time....................
This disappeared completely for a while and did not even appear when I tried the search option. Gremlins???

B

Option B - Edwardian Tearooms.

Maybe Stada another time - after the South of France meeting when we have more confidence smile

crimson Sat 04-Aug-12 15:44:46

B for me as well. But, hopefully the first of many so we can investigate when we're there. We could 'go to the dogs' one day [if we haven't done so already...].

gracesmum Sat 04-Aug-12 18:00:39

Oh yes please!!!! Future SIL went greyhound racing as the third element of his stag night 3 weeks ago - I hesitate to say he went to the dogs!!

jeni Sat 04-Aug-12 18:06:46

South of France?confused

Barrow Sat 04-Aug-12 18:07:20

Dont know the area at all so I amhappy to go along with what everyone else votes for!

AlisonMA Sat 04-Aug-12 18:11:14

I don't mind but have you checked that any of them are pre-bookable?

gracesmum Sat 04-Aug-12 18:18:23

Have spoken to Museum and had email from Strada and both are fine with numbers whenever we decide (see post on "Midlands meet up" thread)

jeni Sat 04-Aug-12 18:41:59

Barrow! Do you want to team up with maniac and I? We could meet at my house , leave the cars there and then my pet driver will drive us to the station and collect us on return! I have an account with him so don't worry about cost! There's room in my drive for three cars if I move mine down. We could all taxi share in Brum as well!

gracesmum Sat 04-Aug-12 19:11:02

Looks like 12 so far for the Edwardian Tearooms- what do the rest of you think?
alisonMA has suggested we wear name badges (I thought sticky labels might do) with both our real and GN names on. As we wouldn't want to wear them on our way there, I would like to suggest we each wear something small and purple about our person - e.g. a twist of purple ribbon, like the breast cancer ribbon or similar, as it might be fun to "spot" GNetters on the train?smile

glitabo Sat 04-Aug-12 19:22:13

Excellent. Purple ribbon it is then.
Thank you gracesmum .

jeni Sat 04-Aug-12 19:37:18

A penitential stole?

glitabo Sat 04-Aug-12 19:51:14

Will you be hearing confessions jeni ?

jeni Sat 04-Aug-12 19:52:57

I allready do, in tribunals!

glitabo Sat 04-Aug-12 19:55:33

gracesmum Sat 04-Aug-12 20:38:33
