I see they had a boat race in Auckland and she beat him , well done her.
However Windsor men are not famous for being in Women"s shadows.
Camilla seems to have got it right with Charles , Kate should think on, IMO .

"Just saying"

Both upstaged by Prince George, though!

I think he adores her too much for him to be jealous. It's an excellent partnership. smile

Tosh. Don't be sexist, nonu. One hopes the best team won. I daresay William is a good sportsman and just enjoyed the race.

I sincerely hope he did , but as I said in my opening post , Windsor men are not famous for being in women's shadows! They like it there way or the highway.
Still we will see what we will see , these two lovies will forge their own path I am sure.
smile

I don't know why but I can imagine them having a good laugh about her beating him smile

Ana Sat 12-Apr-14 21:05:30

And what a picture that conjures up, HollyDaze! confused

Nonu Sat 12-Apr-14 21:12:22

The men I know really have a good old belly laugh about beaten by a woman !!!

The Duke of Edinburgh has been a woman's shadow for a fair old time now. But then, he's not a Windsor but a Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glückburg so perhaps he doesn't count.

Ana Sat 12-Apr-14 21:28:33

Nonu, I don't think you were seeing the image that I was...wink

Nonu Sat 12-Apr-14 21:29:21

What ever the DOE is or was , he certainly wasn"t in the shadow in days gone by.

Sailing in modern well-crewed yachts does not require massive physical strength so there should be no division between men and women. The race is between people. Gender is irrelevant.

Where more muscle makes a difference, e.g. in archery, there is a case for having separate events for men and women so that some women can win. Even so, many women are better archers than many men because there is skill and concentration involved too, in which women and men are equals.
