I'm confused.. Can anyone tell me what age you are eligible for a bus pass? I am 59 so obviously I'm not eligible but my husband is now 65.. He has applied twice since he was 60 and "nothing" ..

Agreed Shysal I know that different areas have their own rules though.DH born in 1946 got his bus pass at 60 even though state pension is for 65.

The only time ours are used is every Friday night when OH comes home from the pub.

bikergran and Maggie that is how my parents went on honeymoon from Scotland to Blackpool, by tandem and my father apparently kept accusing my mother of not peddling.

My in laws in their youth went to Wales on a motorbike with MIL riding pillion.

MIL fell off at some point and FIL didn't realise she'd gone for several more miles.

She wasn't hurt thank goodness, but of course he never lived it down. grin

just applying for mine born December 1952.Form completed, ready with copied documents to return to Norfolk county council..just need my mugshot and its good to gogrin...My first pension will be 8th October 2015 paid 4 weeks in arrears so my retirement date is 6th September 2015...have also checked up to see if my fuel allowance comes automatically...apparently it does, but have been told by DWP anyone retiring after September has to apply for it.

Your post made me laugh, Falconbird. I read it out to DH and he commented that your MIL couldn't have been pedalling very hard if FIL didn't notice the difference. grin

Oh, I've just realised they were on a motorbike, not a tandem!! Just ignore me. blush
